Kind of speechless with big book hangover. I'm ok with the ending, but I think it wasn't necessary to be that long, with every hunt, eating meat and drinking tea included.

This story was such a disappointment. The idea itself is not bad, not original (Gone Girl?), but not bad. It's the execution that was so painful to witness. It needed a few more rounds of editing - chapters end abruptly, there's so much unnecessary profanity, characters are black and white stereotypical with no logical motivation - their actions just serve the plot and many times lead nowhere. No character development. A lot of characters are there just to be red herrings. "Plot twists" are also coming out of nowhere, the biggest one being the most obvious, ironically. The author did none of the research on the legal system and police procedures, and it shows. Horrible messages about women - her mother getting addicted TO HEROIN just because she lost her husband who was a breadwinner??? Oh, give me a break. The whole story feels like a waste of time. Do not recommend it. (The narrators were great, no complaints there!)

Good old cozy series, never let's me down. Some things made me sad, but there's still time to reverse them. Great cliffhanger!

It's not one star just because I LOVED the first half of the book. It was amazing and now I'm so sad the whole book wasn't about that story. Second part was pretty scary to me. And then the shit show began. The ending was so painful and cringey to read. I'm shocked that great beginning had this ending. I don't know in what world the author lives to think that had any sense. I think this is the first book ever I won't sell or donate but it goes straight to the recycle bin.

This one flew by, and I was actually scared for our heroes! But I just hate IT WAS MY TWIN BROTHER trope.

It's fair last 3 books were 1 credit on Audible because realistically it was one book. They all except the last one ended on a cliffhanger and continued right from that spot with the same storyline. I like that we learn more about the magic system in this universe. I loved the feel good ending, and I'm glad aunt Lavender storyline is finally over. Selene remained the best and she was so cute admiting her feelings to Cora. I'll definitely continue with this series, it's great cozy mystery.

What I appreciated most was the hopeful undercurrent of change—that as more people advocate for meaningful rituals, our approach to death could evolve. This book is both thought-provoking and engaging, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in exploring a fresh perspective on an often-taboo subject.

Great illustrations, full of emotion. Story left me feel quite uneasy.
