DNF

I expected to learn more, get a practical tips and skills how to function in a world and help others. I got over the top dramatic memoar of the actress I never heard of before and wasn't at all interested in. At first I felt really sorry for her, but the victim tone got repetitive. She's still very young, so I don't think I'll listen to her view of the world and life which is not very optimistic. I'm glad she shares her experiences, it's nice and brave and she'll for sure help somebody, especially young people, but it's just not for me.

I love, love, love this series. The second part had much more action than horror, but still an amazing read. It was interesting to learn a lot about whole communities in the underground Manhattan, so fascinating.

First few chapters were kind of interesting, and then information just stopped being applicable to me. I tried reading it as a glance into different perspectives, how other people in different culture live and think, what problems they have, but it was too repetitive and honestly, boring.

This series just keeps on giving. Perfect slow-burning thought-provoking horror. I love we get to hang out with Pendergast so much more and meet him on another level.

Now this was much better, it had that classic cozy fantasy mystery formula. I'm glad I stick with it because the characters found their place and it all works really well.

I started this one a little apprehensive because of all the controversy surrounding it, but I like to see things for myself and not just believe someone's subjective interpretation. While it didn't have so much -isms and -fobias many claimed it has (a lot of things were taken out of context or ignored when opposite was mentioned), it still felt like the author is forcing his opinions through characters. They didn't feel believable or developed, and it was taking me out of the story. I don't like that, no matter what those opinions are - I'm ok with everything in books as long as it serves the story. I feel like it didn't in this one. The complete story was ok, nothing to write home about, especially since I went in knowing most of the spoilers. I really liked the concept of images telling the story. In the end, I neither recommend or not recommend this book, it's a pretty fast read and I don't really care about it after finishing.

Loved it, it was so nice and cozy. I liked the jelousy drama, especially because it finally showed Cora isn't so perfect. The wedding was cute, I didn't mind the whole book revolving around that.

Intriguing. Might as well call it "People ignoring red flags for 28 days straight". I would leave the premises so fast. I liked that we got the potential explanation. Also, it's funny how people believe we own the house we bought with our little human money obeying human laws. Well, guess again. Story itself is maybe closer to 3 stars, but I have to take into account it's real people, how challenging was to get information and write the book.

Unfortunately, this is going to be a DNF for me. The beginning was ok, but I noticed I don't feel like continuing.The tone makes no sense to me, it's like some magical force put modern woman to historical setting, and cranked patriarchy and misoginy to 3000%, but at the same time everything is funny. Combination just doesn't work for me. The feminist message is screaming at my face and I can't take it seriously like that. What happened with subtlety in books??? The idea itself is great, I like that, but the execution is a mess. I'm kinda disappointed cause I've been following Amie for years and I was really looking forward to this.

Finished in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down. I guessed the bad guy from the beginning, but didn't guess why he/she did it. Although, that didn't even matter because there are enough little twists that kept me entertained. For some reason, I liked how everybody was an asshole and annoying. I absolutely loved the narration and the accents, great job!! Great short listen to warm for Christmas.
