A heart-warming, tear-inducing read as always. I've forgotten how wonderfully sweet this story is, and after re-reading it have been thoroughly reminded of why it has always been my favorite book; the story of the March sisters, and their dear friend Laurie, always holding a special place in my heart. It's an inspirational story with much in the way of solid advice that can be used to help one through many a tough spot in life. Yet even more than that it's a sweet reminder of the importance of family, love, and true happiness. I have read this book at least 10 times since I was in 4th grade. I love it. It made me realize my passion for writing.

I'm definitely glad I finally got around to reading this book. It made me laugh plus was entertaining. I really enjoyed the characters of Holly, Mulch, Foaly, Root, and Juliet from pretty early on. Though 100% my absolute favorite is Holly. I'd just love to read so much more of her. The People were really interesting and I liked the creativity of the worldbuilding tied to them.
It took me awhile to really like Artemis and Butler - that happened more near the middle to end. Butler's concern about his sister, Juliet, was touching. I did certainly feel bad for Artemis given what we learn in regards to his parents and it was a certain action near the end that actually made me really like him. It's also what sold me on giving this a 4 star vs a 3 star rating. Otherwise, I feel as though Artemis comes off quite reckless and uncaring during certain events during the story. . .
And gets off without really learning anything or there being any real consequences especially given he put others lives at great risk. This is also evident where something happens to Butler only for Artemis to not really react to it. This could partially be due to the author seeming to gloss over it in the writing, but I feel like for Artemis as a character it would've been good to linger on it a bit more.

I'm definitely glad that I stumbled upon this book last year. A reading challenge task had me searching for various books outside my typical reads and this was one. While I didn't get to read it last year? So glad I can now say I've read it. This was a powerful and moving read. I teared up more than once. While there were moments I got frustrated with Nicolette and I figured out some stuff early on, the story was still compelling enough to keep my attention. Plus I adored Wren. And the narrators did a great job.
A magical, endearing listen. . . This was absolutely wonderful. I know once upon a time I've been read Peter Pan though I don't really recall it and I've seen numerous films, but this audio production was definitely the most enjoyable experience. The narration was beautifully done by the entire cast and I even teared up near the end. There were things in the story I wished Barrie had touched on more such as Tiger Lily and her Lost Girls, but otherwise a really entertaining story all around. I also like how the differences between Tiger Lily and Wendy show there's no wrong way of being a girl and how Wendy calls out the emotional burden of duty, responsibility, etc. being placed on her as 'mother' while Peter didn't do the same as 'father' and was seen by the 'kids' as the 'fun parent'. An issue still too common today in relationships especially where they have children.

While it wasn't what I expected it was still an enjoyable and sweet listen with some beautiful writing. There were moments where I teared up more than once. However, I feel like given it's concepts and depths that it is a book that'd benefit from being reread and I plan on doing that in the near future. The performances by the narrators were absolutely wonderful. They really added to the experience which made the characters more real.

Quick disclaimer: How long it took me to finish reading this book had absolutely nothing to do with the book itself and everything to do with a little thing called life.
First, I want to say that I adore this book in its entirety. I picked it up on a whim after reading a marvelous Tweet thread by the author, and I haven't regretted it for one second. This book is a tasty treat from its rich worldbuilding to its varied characters. I'm excited to learn more about both especially after watching the way these characters, and the world itself, developed throughout this story.
Second, I can't wait to pick up the next book(already bought it too!) and have strongly recommended this one to many people. I'll keep recommending it too. Of course, a more detailed review will come in future, but for now this will do.

This is definitely a slow-burn story though I don't say that negatively. No, it's important to know that this is a good thing as it allows the reader to feel the tension growing along with the characters as the situation becomes more dire. It took twists that I wasn't expecting at times and the sorrow the community felt was palpable. I'm definitely interested to read more works by this author as the setting and story told was one not previously told. I'll probably write a more detailed review later, but this will do for now.
An emotionally heavy read
CW: Mention/discussions of parental, spousal, and child loss, discussion of dealing with grief after loss of loved one (adding as I wish I'd had this knowledge beforehand as I wouldn't have read it during a tough month)
Well, this book was definitely worth choosing from the list of originals. While at first I felt like there was a little too much in the details given by Eve, which dragged the story a little at the start, it did make sense for her character. Plus as the story continued that feeling disappeared. I really loved the relationship between Eve and Emery. Honestly all the characters were interesting and you can understand where each were coming from in respect to their choices- even David. The voice acting definitely added to the enjoyment of these characters too. It was done so well.
The only thing I will say that for all the cuteness and humor? It doesn't prepare nor balance well against the emotional weight of what is revealed in this story. I know it's listed as a middle grade read, but I definitely suggest to parents to listen/read this first and if they do let their kid(s) take a turn to prepare for a lot of questions and feelings. Even as an adult I had a bit of trouble processing what all was revealed especially as the story moves pretty fast from then on giving you little time to deal.
Overall though still a really great story.
