Alright alright it’s another one.
So many words. There is no reason for all of the words. None that I could find anyway.
This book had every you want in a fast paced story. It has mystery, intrigue, danger - and also a bunch of words that slow that page waaaay down to a crawl. I’m not a fan of slow paced books. This one was also broken up into 3 or 4 page chapters which in my honest opinion, rendered entire chapters unnecessary to the overall story.
On the other hand though, I can see why most people will disagree with me. The commentary included in these words that I personally deem “extra”, many will agree were absolutely necessary to the plot. I like simple, this happens to be extra. There’s nothing wrong with that at all - just makes it less my cup of tea than I thought it would be.
Story wise though, this is it. As I said it has everything you could want. It’s the beginning of a series which I can definitely see going somewhere. So here’s the fun part - I still have to know what happens next so I’ll absolutely be picking up the next book when it’s available! It’s so interesting! The style isn’t my favorite but for a good story I can absolutely get past it. This is one of those stories.
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 rounded up as always.

Little preface for my review:
If I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a million times, I don’t like books that use lots of words when just one would have gotten the point across. This is one of those wordy books. So - grain of salt everyone, grain of salt.
We begin this book with a heart wrenching trial that does not go the way the prosecution as planned. The attorney is aware he messed up and it haunts him - but it also greatly effects his key witness, 10 year old Tommy Henderson. This book is really Tommy’s story.
We follow Tommy down many roads that collide at the end and I will admit it is an interesting and wild ride but it’s a wordy, interesting and wild ride. I’m not here for the wordy. It’s not my preferred reading style.
You can feel the passion from the author in this book. It’s clear. It’s also interesting to see the parallels and differences between Canadian and American legal proceedings (as an American anyway). That was an added bonus for me!
So ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it’s wordier than I prefer while still remaining interesting enough to want to continue. I would recommend this to those that enjoy wordier novels as well as anyone that enjoys procedural-type books.

Book one had me sold, this one left me wanting. I’m going to finish the trilogy but if I’m reaching for fantasy from Nora, I’m not going to be reaching for this again.

Well this was an enjoyable telling of the days when Ms Agatha Christie went missing. I must say, I enjoy this telling more than others I’ve read. It felt more believable and honestly super sneaky. I really did like it.
The ending left a bit to be desired. There’s a sort of epilogue and it’s honestly so short it felt unnecessary but at the same time it was what wrapped up the story in the end. While I didn’t love the back and forth, I did like that this format gave us the whole story and we got to experience the manuscript being written as well as what was going on to locate the missing Mrs Christie.
I think I’m going 4⭐️. It had its ups and downs. It’s a quick listen with a great narrator but there’s something about it that just keeps it from being one I loved. Maybe book club will help me figure out what that is.
No thank you. Just no.
When I think of true crime, I expect the majority of the book to be about crime. Maybe not necessarily murder but other crimes. This is not what we’re given here at all.
The books starts strong with the murder and then we do a rewind and freeze before we plow forward at a glacial pace learning the business side of Gucci. I don’t know about any of you, but if I’m looking to read a book about the murder of someone famous, I don’t want their whole family history as well as the history of their company. A little sprinkled here and there would be fine, and even add context to the story but that isn’t what was given here.
The title is misleading and even after reading the synopsis, I’m still confused how either of those things lead anyone to expecting the content of this book.
The 2.5 stars are purely for effort in research. There is a TON of it that went into this book and I gotta say I’m impressed. I could never dive that far into this and put it into words, I’d have given up because frankly I find it boring. So kudos. But the marketing for this appears to have been for a different book entirely.
⭐️⭐️💫
This just isn’t for me. I can see where this could be enjoyable for some but I was over it pretty quickly.
Did I finish it? Yeah, I did but I can’t say I liked it at all. It started weird, ended fine and the middle was pretty boring. I hate to say that I just didn’t care who was killing the teens. I actually didn’t even want to know, I just wanted it to end. And then it did but idk. It’s just not for me.

Holy freaking crap. I thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish.
You know those books that make you stay up past your bedtime? That was this for me. I have a habit of finishing an audiobook in bed and then starting the next, as in listening though the credits and such so it’s good to go the next day. This one though snuck past me and next thing I know I’m 50% in and it’s 3am!
The psychology behind the happenings in this book was absolutely fantastic. It’s creepy and psychological and I am here for it. It had just enough suspense to keep you interested but not enough that it slowed the pace. It was very fast paced and again, I absolutely loved it.
My one complaint is the ending. While it was fast paced, it seemed to end abruptly. It wrapped everything up just fine with a bow but it did it so quickly that I was actually taken aback when it ended.
Thanks to NetGalley for the audio copy!

I expected this to be spicier just based on the cover but I’m not complaining. There’s considerably more plot than I was prepared for and I’m here for it. I enjoy plot with my spice, and even with this being part of a series and I’ve jumped right in, I was able to keep up with the story and the characters with little to no extra effort on my part. The story had its moments where I was less than thrilled with the tropes we were experiencing but overall I don’t have too much to complain about.
It’s a solid sports romance that’s light on the sports (thank goodness) with just enough spice to keep it interesting.

This book sucked me in and held my attention from start to finish. While I wouldn’t say it was anything groundbreaking, it was definitely interesting and took a different road to the child of a killer story that we typically get.
Thanks to NetGalley, I was able to listen to the audiobook and it was fantastic! The narrator nailed it with the emotions that were surrounding the characters at the time and gave light to the mystery as it was unfolding. It was fascinating- I loved it.
