Little preface for my review:
If I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a million times, I don’t like books that use lots of words when just one would have gotten the point across. This is one of those wordy books. So - grain of salt everyone, grain of salt.
We begin this book with a heart wrenching trial that does not go the way the prosecution as planned. The attorney is aware he messed up and it haunts him - but it also greatly effects his key witness, 10 year old Tommy Henderson. This book is really Tommy’s story.
We follow Tommy down many roads that collide at the end and I will admit it is an interesting and wild ride but it’s a wordy, interesting and wild ride. I’m not here for the wordy. It’s not my preferred reading style.
You can feel the passion from the author in this book. It’s clear. It’s also interesting to see the parallels and differences between Canadian and American legal proceedings (as an American anyway). That was an added bonus for me!
So ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it’s wordier than I prefer while still remaining interesting enough to want to continue. I would recommend this to those that enjoy wordier novels as well as anyone that enjoys procedural-type books.
