Thank you SMP Romance and NetGalley for the gifted ebook of The Make-Up Test! All opinions in this review are my own.
I like that the more romances I read, the more I can pinpoint what I like. For example, I'm beginning to learn that if a book is hate to love, it has to have dual POVs. It's really hard for me to listen to how horrible the love interest is for most of the book and then suddenly believe that everything can be fixed in the end.
I was really interested in Allison as a main character and loved all the literature references. However, I felt like most of that was lost because she was too busy complaining about Colin. Apparently this was just not the book for me.

Thank you to Once Upon a Book Club for the gifted The Roughest Draft box! All opinions in this review are my own.
I loved The Roughest Draft so much that I had to stay up late to finish it! While it is a slow burn, there is so much tension leading up to the moment when the characters finally get together that it was worth it! I am always a fan of a dual perspective romance because it allows you to get to know both characters in a hate to love romance instead of your opinion being colored by one of their viewpoints. I definitely recommend if you like hate to love and forced proximity romances!

Thank you Forever for the gifted copy of An Heiress's Guide to Deception and Desire! All opinions in this review are my own.
I have to be honest, I absolutely loved the first book in this series, A Lady's Guide to Mischief and Mayhem, so it was difficult for me to get into the sequel at first.
Once I realized how much the original couple are in the second one, it made it much easier. I love the combination of mystery and romance! While Val took some time to like, I ended up really liking his scenes with Caro and how they were thrown together.
Also, we are introduced to the couple that the third book focuses on and I'm already excited to read it!
This series is a great introduction to anyone wanting to start reading historical romance! You can read the first two books and catch up before the third one comes out in March, A Spinster's Guide to Danger and Dukes!

Thank you to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for the gifted copy of This May End Badly! All opinions in this review are my own.
I really enjoyed this YA romance! Fake dating is my favorite trope so I was drawn in immediately. I loved the prank war mixed with the boarding school setting. I also liked that there is quite a bit of character development. You see the main character grow over the course of her senior year and be able to use her influence for good.

Thank you SMPRomance and NetGalley for the gifted ebook of Built to Last! All opinions in this review are my own.
I absolutely devoured this romance over a weekend! Second chance is one of my favorite tropes but I also really liked the home renovation show angle to act as forced proximity. The first chapter is told from Cameron's point of view, which immediately hooked me.
Basically, this romance checked so many boxes for me, I'm not surprised I enjoyed it so much!

Thank you Minotaur and NetGalley for the gifted copy of Fateful Words! All opinions in this review are my own.
I have been on such a cozy mystery kick for the past few months that I was so excited when I received a copy of Fateful Words in the mail! Nothing could be better than a cozy mystery set in Scotland!
Despite being the eighth book in the Scottish Bookshop Mystery, Fateful Words is a great introduction to the series. When her boss mysteriously flees to London, Delaney is tasked with leading his literary tour around Edinburgh. Because of this set up, readers are treated to their own tour of Edinburgh and it was a wonderful way to revisit the city without having to go there. There are so many moving pieces to the mystery that I was still guessing who was going to be involved until the very end.
Fateful Words isn't out until April 4th, but this will give you ample time to read the other books in the series first!

When NetGalley released a list of Read Now cozy mysteries, Against the Currant was one that I jumped on! The first in the Spice Isle Bakery series, Lyndsay must figure out who killed her competition before she gets blamed for it!
Thank you St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the gifted ebook! All opinions in this review are my own.
To start, I love that this series is set in a West Indian bakery in Brooklyn! Lately I have been reading cozy mysteries set in small towns, so this was a refreshing change!
While I felt like it did take a little while for Lyndsay to start trying to solve the mystery, it fits with the fact that this is the first book in the series. She is not just going to start chasing after a murderer immediately. Lyndsay's reaction to being framed made the mystery more realistic. Plus, by not jumping right into trying to solve the mystery, it gave us time to get to know her family more and I loved their interactions!
Needless to say, I will be reading the second book and I'm excited to see where this series goes!

Thank you to Soho Press and Team Tandem for the gifted copy of Aesthetica! All opinions in this review are my own.
I am going to be honest, there were many times throughout this book I almost DNFed it. It's not that I was bored or thought the book was terrible, but it was hard to listen to the descriptions of the cosmetic surgies and the situations that the main character was experiencing at times.
This book is a great look at how social media can become an obsession and fake it truly is. However, I think this is a book you have to physically read. I listened to the audiobook and since this is a book that is focused on social media, there are a lot of emojis it. In the audiobook, each emoji is read aloud and it can get tedious at times.

What a cliffhanger! I'm so glad the next book in the series is already out! Dragon Mountain is a great middle grade fantasy adventure full of dragons and mystery!
