I wanted to like this one but it would have been better if we didn't have Cassandra and Jane's point of view.  I feel like by knowing what they were up to, it took all of the tension and suspense out of the story.

Thank you Nancy Paulsen Books and NetGalley for the eARC of Thieves' Gambit. All opinions in this review are my own.

I really liked the premise of Thieves' Gambit and at times, I really liked the book. However, I felt like the pacing was a little too slow for me. In what I expected to be a thrilling mission-based story, there are a lot of downtimes in between action that slowed the plot down.

The ending was good but I don't think I will be continuing with the series.

Thank you Grand Central Publishing for the ARC of Half-Blown Rose! All my opinions in this review are my own.

I was surprised at how much of this book focused on Vincent's affair with Loup rather than her husband's book and its aftermath.  I enjoyed Half-Blown Rose but felt like a lot of the drama happened off the page.  However, I loved the setting and how it was more a slice of life with Vincent trying to decide what to do.

Thank you Avon and BiblioLifestyle for the gifted copy of Queen Charlotte! All opinions in this review are my own.

While I am a fan of the Bridgerton show, I didn't love the first book in the series when I tried to read it.

This was not the case for Queen Charlotte! I don't know if it is because the characters are already familiar, but I loved reading about Charlotte and George's relationship when they were first married. I also liked that we got to see more of Lady Danbury's story in this book too!

Thank you Blackstone Publishing and BiblioLifestyle for the gifted copy of The Widow on Dwyer Court. All opinions in this review are my own.

I knew from the premise that this book would be wild but it didn't work for me.  There were no major twists and I felt like the characters were too one-demensional.  It seemed like this thriller was trying to coast mainly on the wild premise than actually developing into anything.

Thank you Harper Perennial and BiblioLifestyle for the gifted copy of The Memo!  All opinions in this review are my own.

While the ending can be predictable for this storyline, I loved the ride there!  I really liked Jenny as the main character and her character arc.  If you are a fan of the lighter Black Mirror episodes, then this book is for you!

While it is actually the third book in the Maine Clambake series, Musseled Out is the first one that I read and it won't be the last! I loved the setting for this cozy mystery and I'm glad that the mystery starts so early in the book!

Thank you William Morrow and BiblioLifestyle for the gifted copy of Scandalous Women! All opinions in this review are my own.

I love reading historical fiction books about something I don't know that much about and Scandalous Women delivered! I liked reading about these two bestselling authors and what they had to endure being women in the industry. I also really liked the character Nancy even if she was purely fictional. The only downside to this book is that I now I want to read the books mentioned in it and I want to read more of Gill Paul's books!

The first chapter of Something in the Water is excellent. It immediately hooks you into the story and it's probably one of the strongest openings I've read.

Unfortunately, this is where my positives stopped. I thought this was going to be more of a tropical thriller (I love a remote island thriller), but it took 100 pages for the characters to get to Bora Bora and then they only spent another 100 pages actually on the island. I read the mass market version so it was over 400 pages of waiting for something to happen.

While the story did pick up after they found the bag, Erin as a character made the wildest decisions that it was hard to reaply root for her. There was also too much about her documentary that didn't end up amounting to much in the end.

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this one.

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the eARC of Tomorrow is for the Brave!  All opinions in this review are my own.

It's hard to compare but I think Tomorrow is for the Brave is my favorite Kelly Bowen I've read so far.  Violet is a formidable main character and I like that she is loosely based on a real woman.  I also like that for a World War II novel, Tomorrow is for the Brave takes us to locations that are more uncommon settings.

As always, I can't wait for Bowen's next book!
