DNF at 88% because weddings and marriage just aren't that interesting and I can't wait to read something else. I also won't be reading the third book because if there's something more boring than weddings it's parenthood.

DNF'd at 72% because I just don't care about this anymore.

It took me a month to actually say I'm done and I won't even try anymore. This book is depressing. And I guess it's depressing in a way that might make some people feel like they're not the only ones experiencing the same thing but for me it was just way too dark. Maybe I'll read this when I'm 40 and feel like I've lost everything.

If someone knows how this ends feel free to message me. I don't really care to read all the way through to get to the ending but I'd still liked to know.

How to Kill Your Family

Bella Mackie

DID NOT FINISH

This is going to be a DNF. I was expecting something light hearted by the way this book was described as "funny" and "witty" but what I got was a main character who thinks she's so feminist and so great and impressive but puts down other women for being feminine. She clearly has issues (I guess you wouldn't murder your family if you didn't have) and she's IRRITATING with a superiority complex.

I had a hard time getting into this but I think it had more to do with my life at the moment than the book. I would still say it's a slow-ish start but it gets faster pretty quickly and I ended up loving the book.

I really came back from getting groceries, made myself a cup of coffee and was excited to get back to reading this only to realise that I had just finished it before going shopping and I haven't been that disappointed in a long time.

This reminds me a lot of the feelings I had about reading when I was younger and I read books like Percy Jackson and The Mortal Instruments. As a reader I've grown up and I think those books wouldn't feel the same now but for older me this was perfect.

I loved this way more than Ninth House but I missed Darlington so much!

I was expecting to get a really slow paced book but this was decently fast paced and had plenty of storylines. One morning I had to stop at a cliffhanger before going to work and I have never gotten settled after work so quick.

Also, the cover looks even more disgusting now that I know what it refers to and it's a great choice for this book.

Caraval wasn't as great as I was lead to believe.

I had my hesitations going into this. Mainly because it's YA and I'm starting to feel like YA is not for me anymore - with some exceptions. I thought this would be one of those exceptions. Caraval is so highly recommended that I thought it might suit me too.

But it was just very fast paced. It's good YA, but not so good that I would read the sequels.

So, there's a very high probability of me purchasing this duology to read again in the future.

I just love how fast paced and perfect these are. It's the perfect little bite of romantic fae fantasy to get lost into.

I had a great time but I liked the first book more.

BUT WHY SELWYN WHY? I HATE LOVE TRIANGLES!

Somehow I have very mixed feelings about this series because I absolutely love the idea and I'm not even mad about the execution.

But it's so heavy and slow to read that I'm not sure I'd ever read this again.

There are GREAT moments in there but getting to them just takes so much effort.

They fought and they fucked. That's the whole book.
