I really, really enjoyed this installment in this series! Not only is it a whole lot of fun with new mythology and a great cast of characters, its also very diverse and inclusive. I'm so proud of how far Rick has come in his writing and world building. I absolutely cannot wait for the next one

Anyway, I'm in pain. This finale was phenomenal, filled with twists and turns and lots of pain.

*******
So now that I've had some time to reflect, I lowered my rating.
Don't get me wrong, the last 100-150 pages killed me.
but the rest of the book kind of dragged.
And there was really no resolution except for the war being over.
I didnt get any of the reconciliations I wanted. (We don't talk about how mad I am about their dad. WE DON'T.) No one talked to resolve problems. Tamlin's arc seemed unnecessary. It was just a ploy to add tension because he's bitter AF.
I know there's another 3 book arc coming that will probably deal with those characters. But some of these things could've been resolved so easily.

There is also the problem of rep. Like, she tried. But not very hard. She tried to define darker skin colors and it was awkward. She tried to add LGBT rep but it was mostly bi sexuals having sex with anyone. She really needs to do some more research regarding rep.

Overall this book was awkward. It was not everything I wanted it to be. There wasn't enough tension anywhere and it was almost wrapped up with a too pretty bow.

This was easily my favorite book in the series!
It had a great mix of humor and seriousness and tension. I enjoyed it so much more than it's two predecessors. I was invested from beginning to end and I just want them to be together and happy okay.

This was that little bit more I needed to let go of the characters and the story, that satisfied those last few curiousities.

I dont know if I'll read the other two short stories yet but I can't wait to see what CS Pacat puts out next.

I have disproportionate feelings about this book.

idk. I wanted to love it and it'll probably stick with me for a long time but I wasn't a huge fan of the way it was told. I also wanted more at the end of Offred's story, and the historical notes were my favorite part.

But I know its an important story and that it reflects a lot of what's happening in our society today, with terrifying accuracy. It'd scary to think of the reality that could be just around the corner on the whim of a few fanatics.

THIS BOOK WAS SO CUTE AND WHOLESOME. ITS FUNNY AND HOPEFUL AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH.

I do wish there had been a little bit more of a focus on coding, which is what the conference they were attending was about, but the book was so fluffy and fun that I forgive it.

I GUESS

This finale was everything. I'm reeling from the ending. I want more but I also love where it was left and I am full of feelings and wow.

The ending was wild, my dudes.

I really really really loved the scientific aspect of this book. It was so lovely to have a heroine who was genuinely interested in science and to have all the details in the books. It was beautiful.

I wasn't a huge fan of the romance. The whole "my heart started pitter pattering as soon as we met" isn't really for me. And Thomas reminded me of someone I know so I wasn't the biggest fan of his. He did redeem himself in the ending, though he still kind of annoys me. But I like that he encourages Audrey to show off her intelligence and not hide who she is.

It was an interesting twist on one of the most infamous mysteries in the world.

I almost feel like it doesn't need a sequel but I'm excited to see where the next goes.

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE THIRD.
