this felt like what I expected of a RH. I don't love how some scenes are sped up. also this gets more and more mafia-esque. this was just ok. 

 similar feelings to the first one. spice did not always flow naturally to the plot. but I do like the drama/plot going on. slow burn, but you finally get those RH vibes. very over the top twists, but interesting nonetheless. just ok. 

 this was one of the most recommended RH I had seen. not sure how I feel. 

this is definitely cheesy. no subtly to the fact that it will be a RH despite it being enemies to lovers. plot is predictable, but I like that there is a running plot and its not all spice. big cliffhanger ending. I am still not really sure I get RH with where the story left off. 

this just wasn't for me, but I see the value to others.

I'm not a big historical fiction person. I did like hearing the different perspectives of Asian immigrants. And I like how the story was circled back to the beginning. it was wrapped up well. it just felt slow for me. I didn't really connect strongly to any of the characters. I did think it was interesting. I felt that all my guesses in the direction it was going were always wrong and pivoting.

the writing was pretty.

it felt like momo did all of his relationship interactions wrong. his wife gave me awakening by kate chopin vibes. And the little girl didn't get as much time to shine. 

the premise of this book wad good. but the ghost comes out aggressive quick and then it's like what is the rest of this book even about/for? felt really drawn out, writing didn't feel authentic to the character (not well researched). didn't find the main character likeable.

this one I have mixed feelings about. there was a lot of repetiveness. I don't want to hear mate or vulgar gesture anymore. there were a lot of plot twists or changes where it was like why. someone is good then bad then maybe good then definitely bad then good? this happened a few times and I just felt not everyone needs redeeming.

the suriel is one of my fav scenes in the series and this book really had me! I like the creepy/scary side characters more than some of the main ones

 this book did sell me on the series. I didn't really enjoy tamlin - didn't see the appeal so much or why their love happened so quickly (minus he kidnapped her and she knew no one and he was rich). I like rhysand much more and was glad he got a bigger role in this book. some of it was predictable and some of it was surprising. I enjoyed this more than the first. I appreciated the additional backstories we got here and the new characters that were introduced. slow burn was nice - I love a good flirtatious note! spice was nice. 

this was....something. I feel like there was potential but it was squashed at every turn. I liked the main guys backstop but as the book went on he (and most character) were shallow.

the focus on the scientific aspect was cool, but there was no real mystery as it starts with you knowing the ending and the cops then piece it all together.

the writing felt a bit pretentious. so many big words were used for no reason but to use them. and not even scientific words. I felt like the author tried to have deep comments about race or women but the. in general wrote about women in a very eye rolling manner.

it was a relatively quick read. modern day Sherlock Holmes vibe. SD setting was cool as I have a friend from there.

this felt really slow to me. the romance did not make sense. I wasn't really sure why they bonded or pursued it.

i liked the characters back stories and the magic. i do agree with others that they felt stupid. i did see a lot of obvious well thay will happen later moments. planning to read the next one but not sold on the full series yet.
