this was....something. I feel like there was potential but it was squashed at every turn. I liked the main guys backstop but as the book went on he (and most character) were shallow.

the focus on the scientific aspect was cool, but there was no real mystery as it starts with you knowing the ending and the cops then piece it all together.

the writing felt a bit pretentious. so many big words were used for no reason but to use them. and not even scientific words. I felt like the author tried to have deep comments about race or women but the. in general wrote about women in a very eye rolling manner.

it was a relatively quick read. modern day Sherlock Holmes vibe. SD setting was cool as I have a friend from there.
