very detailed and honest. a hard beginning to get through due to content warnings. the only thing I wanted more of was just a bit more insight into the why - especially as someone who isn't very religious. I also wanted a bit longer of an epilpgue! I was so interested in her return to society and how she recovered.

a bit slower than the original but good. some light spice. the ending made me literally gasp out loud. i need the final book asap

I feel that people who like historical thing and mystery would like this. the writing is very juch like a historical diary.

I am not one of these people. the first 100 pages were so hard for me to push through. I did read the second half a lot faster. in a sense I liked the ending but I also just wanted more.  it did have a "what was the point vibe. "
dark emotional sad slow-paced

I was lightly familiar with this case prior to reading. I liked getting to hear the lead up and all the unfolding information. I have read many other books about people who were imprisoned and it was very interesting to compare the US system to this Italian one.

given that this whole thing spans over multiple years I understand why the book is longer, but it did feel a bit too long. som parts were repetitive and this could have been more concise.

this felt like a creepy story telling rather than a scary story. the plot was creepy and could have been spookier, but there was no suspense or tension. a lot of the scary scenes were just facts of what was happening without the build up. it was as if this MC wrote a diary entry of what happened to her after it was all done.

quick easy read

this book was highly recommended. I felt it was just ok. the accuracy to the myth seemed on point. the tone was not very enjoyable to me, she spoke like a royal. this made sense for the character but I didn't enjoy it. I did like her growth.

this audiobook is more like how I imagine old radio shows. no narrator which made it a bit hard to follow at times. this story just wasn't really for me. but my brother in law edited the audio and the sound effects are very cool!
emotional informative reflective slow-paced

this had some really profound quotes. it can be heavy at times. the writing style was really different and could be hard to absorb at times. still glad I read it and heard her thoughts on these still relevant and prominent issues.

so many heavy themes I did not suspect. although I was prime to look for red flags just thinking it's too good to be true. this felt very authentic and while frustrating I appreciated it.

there were a lot of things I liked in this book. possessive hard exterior guy, text conversations, dual pov, and diversity inclusion. the disability visibility aspect I loved. I also enjoyed watching Zahra stand up for herself.

but the beginning felt a bit cringe to me. I'm glad I pushed through because the middle did have me grinning at their interactions. as well as ani's scenes. ever single one of hers hit.

but the ending felt rushed to me and a bit of a let down. I'm glad we got an epilogue but again it felt like so much was crammed in.
