Sidney Sheldon is one of my favourite authors. His books are always a pleasure to read. Rage of Angels is another great work by Sidney Sheldon. They way he sketched his characters amazes me. The plot of the story as well as the pace of the story is super fast. You never realize that this book is of humungous 500+ pages. Like a person greedy for water drinking more and more, you turn pages to read this book with greed.
I personally feel that I'm not even qualified to review this book. But here I am anyway.
Overall, it's an enjoyable read for all who love thrillers.

This is my first book of Hussain Zaidi and it's pretty good.
I really liked the plot of the book and the way the characters are portrayed.
The background of the story, the characters, the details of the book all are up to the mark.
But I felt the book is too dramatical for me. Towards the ending, it's actually unbelievable. Certain parts of the book are too flimsy.
I personally feel that this book will be good for making movies or series.

Overall, it's a 3-star read for me.

I was sceptical when I picked up this book. But I was totally bowled out once I started to read.
The plot and pace of the story are gripping and follows a nice flow.
The author tried to explain the bullies and their motives which is actually the main theme of the story (according to me).
The only thing I didn't like is the writing style. It was too monologue type of writing which was meh for me.

Overall, it's a good book for mystery lovers.

I accepted the review copy only because of the blurb. The blurb sounded mysterious and interesting. And this book hasn’t disappointed me. It’s one of the best sci-fi mystery I have ever read.
The book is divided into 5 parts. Each part has a few chapters from a different point of view and different places on focus. The story has some badass characters and all the characters are well developed. The major plus point of this book (according to me) is the writing style. The writing style of this book is to the point without too many details and the perfect choice of words.
Though the first part is okay-ish and second part is a bit confusing (for me), the last 3 parts are an absolute delight to read. It’s one of the best review copies I have got this year. My favourite character in this book is Damini and she’s such a badass. Though her character arc is not how I wanted it to be, I loved her nevertheless.
Now coming to the things I didn’t like about the book. I particularly didn’t like the cover. Though it’s apt for the story, I didn’t find it appealing. The writing was too descriptive in the first part also the first part was dragging. I didn’t understand the author's need for mentioning the height of the character. It’s not needed but it was there. It’s pretty annoying. Also, Sam is a grown man and I felt he was talking like a teenager. Apart from this, the book is one of the good read.

Would I recommend this book?
Definitely, to all the sci-fi and mystery lovers. This book is one nice piece of fiction.

🔹There are some stories which you can't forget in your life. You grew up with the story and you have a special place in your heart for those characters in the story. The story of 'Kodhai' or 'Andal' is like that for me.
🔸As an ardent vaishnavite (now an atheist), I grew up hearing stories of Andal, her poems and her greatness. As a girl, it is compulsory for us to follow 'Paavai Nombu' every year even after marriage. 🔹The author has beautifully sketched the prominent ritual in her book and it is one of the main attraction of the book according to me.
🔸It took me around 4 hours to finish this book and in these 4 hours, I was in a different century living as Kodhai. The author has nicely articulated the conservativeness of the ninth century and their practices.
🔹Also, the book shows us the emotional roller coaster of Kodhai when she feels that her Paavai Nombu is not successful. It also captures the feelings of her family regarding her situation. You can feel the helplessness of Vishnuchittan and Arali as well as you can feel the yearning of Kodhai which I think is overwhelming (in a nice way 😬).

'S Kodhai is very human and relatable. I am glad that the author gave us a full picture of Kodhai even to the person who doesn't know her.
🔹Though I didn't like the way the author ended the book, I enjoyed it nevertheless.
🔸The writing was articulate as well as sophisticated which made me fall in love with the book. 🔹Overall, it is a tribute to a small girl who wanted to marry God and even succeeded in it. This became my favourite from the moment I started reading it.

Fantasy is my all time favourite genre. I saw this book coming rounds in bookstagram and inspired by that I bought this book. And I'm not disappointed. This book became one of my favourites.
The world building in the book is brilliant and it's inspired by Nigerian mythology. The fictional world has gods who are responsible for regulating magic to humans. The powers, the sister/brother deities are well planned and well articulated. The cruelty of the monarch and the misbehaviour of the soldiers are also well portrayed. At last, I loved the way Orisha was portrayed to the reader.
The writing style of the book is a little vague here and there but I enjoyed it totally. At the middle of the story, I felt the pace was a bit slow but not dragging which is an added point.
The characters are well developed with their background story and complicated feelings. I liked Tzain the most. I wish I had a brother like him who will be with me throughout my struggles. I hated Inan and Zelie. Zelie was downright childish and Inan was one indecisive and confused lad. I also felt that their relationship was forced into the story. It would have been fun to watch them being enemies. But this doesn't affect the story for even a bit.
Overall, this is one hell of a book with a cliffhanger for ending. I am eagerly waiting for the second book.

I don’t know how to explain my feelings. But right now, it’s in a messed up place. This is one rare book that touches the deepest part of your heart which you never knew existed.

The book is poignant and highly thought-provoking about human behaviour. What humans can do at their best and at their worst.

Eleanor taught me that life is not about enjoying. It’s all about surviving. You learn to fall, you learn to get up on your own, you learn from your mistakes and you proudly wear those bruises as a badge. There is no shame in showing the bruises which taught you how to survive and there is no shame in asking help whenever you need. It also taught me that a single act of kindness and courtesy can change the whole life of a person.

The major fact why I liked this book is that the three main characters are such ordinary characters. The author made a good job of making the characters ordinary and relatable. You can see the characters doing their everyday work like nobody’s business and you can also find them doing extraordinary things without advertising.

You can learn a lesson from each of the three main characters in this book. One stood up to her racist friends and even gave up her love of life for the values she believes in. One was willing to bring a change to her society even that means she has to lose her only livelihood. One risked her last family member and even her life in exchange for a terrible secret.

These three women could have been killed if they have been caught in that racist area. But they risked everything and did the inevitable. They brought the change in their society. Certain parts in the book were shocking to read. It changes the perspective of a person. You can see people struggling to get even their minimum wages for their work. You can see people get punished for using the same toilet as that of white people. You can see how cheap people get when it comes to their help.

This book taught me composure. This book taught me how to stand up for your values even that means you end up with no friends. This book taught me that just because your friends believe in something, you don’t need to. This book taught me that it will be difficult for standing up for your rights. But once you do, no one can stop you.

I can go on and on about this book. But these are the major reasons why do I recommend this book. I read this book as a part of #femmemarchfest conducted by @theliquidsunset in bookstagram. And I recommend this book to everyone who loves strong female characters.

This is my first book by Liane Moriarty and I should say that I am not excited. I bought this book after reading the blurb. It was so intriguing and fascinating. But as soon as I started reading this book, I lost interest. The characters are trapped in their head.
Cecilia thinks that her life is in an orderly manner and when she reads that forbidden secret letter, her life is not in order anymore. She takes a thing and keeps on going over them. She is over thinking, sulking over an event which she could not change. And that makes her go crazy. Honestly, I hated reading her part.
Then we have Tess whose husband fell in love with her once fat cousin. I honestly don't know why her part is even there in the book. Her part could've been ruled out without any problems. She seems to think that fat people are not desirable and her husband fell in love with her cousin only after she loses over 100 lbs. Seriously?
And the last piece of the puzzle is Rachel whose daughter has been murdered. Her part and Cecilia's part are perfectly synchronised and predictable from the very start. Rachel hates her daughter-in-law Lauren because her daughter died and couldn't enjoy all the things Lauren's having. Seriously lady? The hate is so prominent it oozes out of the page while reading. And that makes the reader cringe.
Overall, this book is one of the books which promotes fat shaming, hating women for being successful and that typical thought that the women should leave her job if something tragic happens to her child.
The only good thing about the book is writing style. The author has a good writing style which almost makes up for the predictableness and a cliched ending of the book.

This is my first book by the author and to be honest I have mixed feelings. The blurb of the book was okay-ish and I was not judging the book based on it. I am trying to present an honest review without any bias. So, let’s dig into it, shall we?

This book is one of those rare ones where there are no or too little plot holes. The book is well planned and all the characters are well developed. And that’s all about the positives.

There are many things that I didn’t like about the book. First of all characters. I hate the main characters. They are snobbish and snarky. I literally cringed while reading the first few chapters of the book

The second reason is grammar. Even though the story and plot are good, bad grammar makes it impossible to read. After a few chapters, I eventually gave up on the book and DNFed. The book has too many words which are not even needed. Also, it’s like watching a typical soap opera where the characters overcome every single thing. Too much drama for my taste.

Would I recommend this book?

As I DNF-ed the book, I am not sure.
