This book is perfect for fans of big little lies, the last thing he told me. With POVs from all three women you get to really learn about their lives. The characters are well written and completely relatable.
Their marriages seem perfect on the surface and so do their lives but like it’s true for real life, the story is completely different behind closed doors.
While the main mystery or scandal is about the elite school their children go to, I didn’t much care for it. I was more interested in their personal turmoils.
I think this book will make a really great tv show.
I give it 3.5 ⭐️
Thankyou NetGalley and storm publishing for sending me an advance copy for my honest opinion.

My rating for this book is 3.5 but since GoodReads doesn't give half stars I have rounded up to 4.
The premise of the book is interesting. It starts by telling you two things, that Alex is running from her past and second that Francis, the writer for the column Dear Constance, gets murdered.
The narrative is from Alex's point of view with anonymous letters interspersed between chapters to Dear Constance by the lost girl. I don't think it was much of a revelation of who the Lost Girl is, but it was a nice way to learn more about that character. My heart went out to her and I was horrified by what she had to put up with.
My favourite characters were Janice and Raymond. I would like a book based on them to be honest.
Overall the whole story felt lukewarm to me. I didn't love it but it is worth a read.
Thank you Netgalley for this free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is a stunning book written to perfection! It will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. Melanie and Dave are people I wish I knew in real life.
The writing is so good that I was holding my breath at so many points in the book. I almost didn’t want it to end.
Thankyou River street writes for the free book for my honest review!

What a great thriller debut!
This is gripping from the first page. Marissa is a strong FMC who comes into her own by the end of the book. I really enjoyed her character arc.
I loved the pace of this book, there was never a moment when I lost interest. I flew this book really quickly because even after I had figured out the main mystery, I wanted to know what was going to happen to all the characters involved.

Ah how this book started with the promise of a five star read but unfortunately it wasn’t.
The entire book is written from the perspective of Clove talking to her long estranged mother. While I enjoyed that style for a few chapters, afterwards it became really tedious and made the book hard to really dive in to.
The story is an essential one and shines a light of the loneliness of motherhood; womanhood and domestic violence; battered women syndrome; the ripple effects of violence.
There were moments that were highly relatable to me as a mother of two and moments that broke my heart for any woman and child who have had to face domestic violence of any kind. However, these moments never really crescendo for me into magic.
I wish Clove was written differently. I love flawed characters but the fact that she was so unlikeable made it really difficult to care about what happened to her.
As always, this is just my opinion on the book and should not take away from the hard-work that the author has put into it.

This book was such a phenomenal way to end this month!
It’s such a throwback for us 90s kids with the whole AOL chat rooms and love for music and lack of phones and social media! Such a breath of fresh air in this chaotic world of over stimulation.
This love story and life story is definitely one for the ages. I loved the writing style and I can’t wait to meet Marissa Stapley!

This book is four books in one! There are so many storylines, characters and POVs that it becomes an exhaustive read by the mid point. I wish that Lisa had picked three characters and their storylines and really ran with it.
I love a slow burn but by 51% of the book, nothing of consequence has happened and a lot of it is repetitive, especially Adele wondering how she didn’t see her husband for the con he was.
Then FINALLY something big happens and that has nothing to do with pretty much the first half of the book. Then new plot points appear and climaxes into a cliched mess with a hail marry attempt to tie in to the plot line that had been introduced in the beginning of the book.
Ahhh I’m so frustrated!
Thank-you NetGalley for sending me an advance readers copy in exchange for my honest opinion. I wish it was a better one.

What a beautiful book! I feel so satisfied right now after having finished it. Kind of like how one would after a really great meal.
It’s written beautifully and uniquely. It’s a slow burn but I wasn’t bored for a minute. There are so many POVs and for the first few chapters it was a bit difficult to keep track of but after a while I decided to just flow with the narrative and that was the best thing I did. Every character started jumping out of the page and easy to follow.
I loved the variety of characters weaved into this story. There are weak ones, who never manage to grow a spine; then there are the silent strong ones who you’ll root for and then the misunderstood ones. They are all so well fleshed out.
I found the tactic of ending a chapter on a cliffhanger only to start a completely different POV in the next chapter so fun and interesting. It really added to the overall experience for me and the way the story flowed.
ThankGod all questions are answered at the end so you can shut the book feeling free.

I love Kate Quinn books but this one fell short for me. It had its moments when I got in to the story but then the focus would shift and take way too long getting to the point.
At its core it is a love letter to the 50s in the US. The adding of the recipes and detailed descriptions of life and social conditions at the time.
It starts off with a murder and the ending to that mystery is really interesting. It’s the ride to there that I, try as I may, could not fall in love with.
