The God of the Woods
by Liz Moore
What a beautiful book! I feel so satisfied right now after having finished it. Kind of like how one would after a really great meal.
It’s written beautifully and uniquely. It’s a slow burn but I wasn’t bored for a minute. There are so many POVs and for the first few chapters it was a bit difficult to keep track of but after a while I decided to just flow with the narrative and that was the best thing I did. Every character started jumping out of the page and easy to follow.
I loved the variety of characters weaved into this story. There are weak ones, who never manage to grow a spine; then there are the silent strong ones who you’ll root for and then the misunderstood ones. They are all so well fleshed out.
I found the tactic of ending a chapter on a cliffhanger only to start a completely different POV in the next chapter so fun and interesting. It really added to the overall experience for me and the way the story flowed.
ThankGod all questions are answered at the end so you can shut the book feeling free.
