4.75… Listennnn get your tissues ready cause this one had me crying dang near the entire book. Ciyani’s story & what she went through caring for her two younger brothers & herself was sooo heartbreaking but also the depiction seemed sooo real & definitely pulled at my heart strings.
I honestly appreciated how Kami wrote this story & allowed Ciyani & Justice to develop a genuine friendship & for Ciyani to get on her feet. This was a beautiful love story & I can’t wait to see what other books comes from this family/group (I’ve already read Rule’s book).

If you want a book that has a cute love story & a little bit of crime in it then this is for you. The two main characters meet/run into each other 5 times & at that 5th time it’s a wrap & everything moves at a fast pace. There’s a lot of drama & a little plot twist & everything that keeps you engaged.

Disclaimer: I’m typically a sucker for a FMC named Sloane. I just feel like they are typically bad a.. & fiery, independent & all the good things.
With that being said I LOVED Sloane even when she irked my nerves & was trying to sabotage her “fake” relationship with Deion.
I also loved Deion & how nasty he was & wasn’t ashamed to explore all things sexual with Sloane, specifically things that a lot of guys typically shy away from. I also loved the fact that he immediately gave Sloane her credit for getting his hot hand back.
I loved the way these two supported each other, loved each other, roasted each other & defended each other. This book was everything.

I would have liked the plot better explained because I’m left with questions of like why did ole boy have soo much anger towards the main characters, was the video their smoking gun, was ole boy blackmailing ole girl, etc.
also to me India came off a little thirsty at times which could have been due to her lack of experience.
Overall, the book was really good & cute. I loved the banter between Zahi & Zayne & Orion.

This book is kind of like a friends to lovers but not in the typical way. Mallory “Molly” & Kirill met when they were teenagers & went to the same school at the time Molly was the rich preppy girl & Kirill was the “weird boy”. They formed a friendship that eventually blossomed into a relationship but due to Molly’s crappy father they were forced to separate & they have been looking for each other ever since. Fast forward seven years later & Kirill has found his Molly & is determined to break her. This is where I start not understanding because Kirill loves Molly & is completely obsessed with her but he was hell bent on “breaking her” which I don’t think he was ever successful at. Anyway, once due to mafia arrangements/deals Molly & Kirill is forced apart again..

This book kinda sorta reminds me of the movie columbiana. It definitely has a bad a.. FMC, Alicia “Ace”. It has an MMC, Cree, who is a good cop who just wants to help & protect the woman he cares about.
We meet meet Alicia in Ante up & she definitely gives off suspense vibes, don’t mess with me vibes, bad b..ch vibes, etc. We also meet Cree in Ante up & he’s a police officer & is attracted to Alicia & picks up on the fact that she’s so tough & hard because at some point in life she had to be & that’s why he doesn’t back down from her & one of the things he likes about her. Basically this book is based on things that happened to Alicia prior to her being “rescued” by the Whitefields.
If you like action movies/books this is definitely for you. This book does have spice too, FYI but it is more action in my opinion.

King is the definition of actions speak louder than words his mouth may not have said he was feeling asha but his actions dang sure did. But also this book shows how the difference in a couples love language can possibly cause friction.

3.75… I would recommend reading previous books in this series because even though this is a standalone I felt like I was missing things that was important to the plot but overall the book was good.

I lowkey wish Olivia would’ve made Eli grovel a little bit more because 7 years is a loooong time & its 6 years longer than he said but at the same time I probably would’ve folded with the pressure he was applying 😂 This book is a cute second chance romance between childhood friends.

If you’re on some f..k love type of vibe and/or going through a horrible breakup that has tainted your perspective on love this book may very well change your mind, heart & opinion.
Jamie exuded BDE & despite his previous reservations on love & getting married (again) once he seen Kamaya he knew he was gone get her & make her his. He loved & worshipped Kamaya & loved her daughter as well (who definitely gave main character energy). The way Jamie protected his girls was definitely cute.
