3.75… The ending legit pissed me off. It was soo abrupt & random If it wasn’t for the ending, this would’ve been a 4 star read

4.75… Listen that nigga prime had a lot of audacity but at the same time he was nigga & he was honest with the things he did. He knew off rip that he wanted Lisara & would do whatever to have her everybody else & their feelings didn’t matter. I also appreciate the fact that Lisara constantly reminded Prime of his current relationship status & let him know she wasn’t side chick material.
I’m used to reading books where a character like Nori would have received the same fate as her bestie Tangie but it was alright that Prime let her slide but also let her know that she had messed up & there would be consequences.
I hope Khari really got his stuff together cause at one point I was yelling at Prime to beat his tail but I guess we’ll on his update when his book comes about.

Listennnn focus is definitely book bae 😍😍

You don’t necessarily have to read trenches before this book but I would suggest it plus trenches is a good good read as well.

I can’t think of anything bad about this book or the characters besides there a few grammatical errors but it didn’t bother me. Tobias/Focus could come off mean at times but I ate it up every single time.

I looooved seeing Baby & Monica & especially seeing Monica as trenches & in her element 😍 If you like hood romances, boy obsessed, funny af side characters, etc. this is the book for you

Ummmm… I loved the in the midst series by this author so I thought I would read more from her catalog & unfortunately this one wasn’t as good as the two books in the in the midst series.

I hardly ever read novellas that are apart of a series that act as an introduction to the actual book but definitely read the novella prior to reading this. It helps you get an insight on the dynamic & love connection between the two characters.

I think the downfall of this book for me was the many holes & unfinished business that were left once the book was completed. I also feel like the connection between the two characters were forever changing. One minute they were good or fake being good & the next they were bad but things never really got resolved but some kinda way they would end up good again it was confusing & taxing.

Another thing I didn’t like was the way that the characters demeanor/personality, etc. we’re different in this book compared to how they were in the novella. In the novella you would’ve thought they were soulmates & in the beginning of this book the characters portrayed that they were truly obsessed with each other but once’s they linked back up both characters started making lame excuses about why they couldn’t be together like if that’s the case why tf did you spend a year dreaming, obsessing, longing for this person?!

I honestly think Midas’s mom & Naveah’s strong personality is why I liked the book soo much. Like there was a part in the book where Neveah gave bad b.tch energy & it was soo good.

First of all this book reminded me of colliding with fate by A.E. Valdez… Next, this book was sooo good. I felt sooo bad for Landon. I could feel his hurt & anger through the pages, but loved how Lexi had his back & supported him through it.
I feel like this book was more so catered to telling Landon’s story & what he endured, his trauma & his family dynamics while also displaying him being in his first committed relationship. I would have loved to see more about Lexi (i.e her family relationship, life as a daycare owner, etc.  ) overall it was good.

To me this book was about accountability, healing, forgiveness & finding love after trauma. It was really good & the story behind why Remedy was “cold” or “closed off” was told beautifully & the fact that Lathan was determined to love her through it all. I also loved the relationship between Rem & Tessa as well as Rem’s relationship with Gabbi. I loved that there wasn’t any babymama drama or anything like that.

The way I related to the type of woman Garryn was & desired the type of man Verse was is uncanny. Garryn is a woman who is used to being independent & not depending on anybody because she was rejected by the people who were supposed to love her & care for her the most. She’s used to taking care of people but also people wanting something from her. She’s used to people using her soo through everything she’s learned how to put up this wall & all she’s focused on his her career & maintaining her strong wall & boundaries, however, verse isn’t hearing none of that. Verse was the type of man to have patience with the girl he wanted because he understood she had been through some sh.t. He understood that there was a significant reason behind Garryn’s walls therefore he had no problem with being patient. This man told her  “I know the wall you hide behind wasn’t to keep me out. That rather than tearing it down, I’d like nothing more than to join you inside of it, so you won’t always be alone.” The way I slid down the wall 😭 Verse was a GROWN man he had no problems explaining his feelings & making sure baby girl knew that he wanted her & only her. Even when he messed up he quickly realized where & how he messed & baby did he grovel with actual words & not JUST gifts like most mmc do that are billionaires. Whew child this one was a good one.

It’s the fact that I guessed who did it before I even read the book but once I started reading it I started second guessing myself & even thought I had it right at one point. This book was definitely a roller coaster. If you like murder mysteries or even law & order vibes then definitely read it.

2.75… I really wanted to love this book & I kept changing my mind from 3 ⭐️ to 2.75 ⭐️ but ultimately I was disappointed in this book. I felt as though the book was unnecessarily long & slow. It’s split into 3 different parts when it could’ve just been 2 (the first part should have been the prologue & then the second part should’ve been the actual first half of the book & then Fast forward 6 years later to conclude the book). & I feel as though this book is a good example of miscommunication & I don’t like it. If the FMC just would’ve talked to the MMC & told him what happened they both could’ve saved time & heartache.

The book is split into two parts. Part one is when the main characters meet & how their relationship develops up until the FMC is forced to run/move away. The second part is 3 years later when the MMC finds the FMC & is dead set on making her pay for leaving him.

The first part dragged to me & is mainly the reason why I gave this book 4/5 ⭐️ but overall the book was good. I loved the suspense aspect of it.
