This is one of those books that I picked up not really knowing what to expect. It starts right off with a pretty important death, one that shapes the rest of the book. Then you see all these birds turning up, and at first they really confused me. But then as the book went on, I started to take comfort in the birds showing up. I started to associate them with change, whenever something big was about to happen or right after something did happen, the ravens would be there without fail. I really liked them. There were so many possible directions that this book could have taken, and that was my favorite thing about it! I had to keep reading so I could find out which path it would take and see what was really going to happen. So much was up in the air and you really didn't have too many answers until the last 1/4 of the book. Sometimes that would bug me, but the not knowing fit in so well with On a Dark Wing.
Abbey was iffy for me. Sometimes she bugged me and sometimes I connected with her completely and I got where she was coming from. She has had it rough- really rough, and I can't even begin to imagine how I would behave if I were in her shoes. The thing that bugged me a bit about her was that she acted like a brat from time to time. Especially to her father. He has had it just as rough as Abbey, and sometimes she showed him no respect, and was flat out rude to him. I would have liked to see a little more growth and connection in their relationship. It all stemmed from Abbey's inability to talk about her mother at all. And Abbey does come a long way in her relationship with her mother towards the end of the book. That made me really happy.
The idea of Death personified has fascinated me recently. I just read Existence by Abbi Glines, and I loved it! Here death was a little different, but he still really intrigued me. I liked him more than I liked Nate, actually. Nate just seemed a little flat to me. That was how I pictured Nate actually, because Abbey always had a crush on him from a distance so I never really wanted him to be this amazing, fleshed out guy. I wanted him to be a little high school crush, and to have the real focus elsewhere. Death really opened up to Abbey, and I loved that. I would have liked to spend some more time with him because he still felt so mysterious to me. But no one could hold a flame to Tanner.
Tanner was so sweet. The nicest guy I have read about in a long time. He was willing to do ANYTHING for Abbey, and at points in the book I caught myself thinking that she didn't deserve him. She redeemed herself when she had that same thought though. This was the cutest aspect of the book for me, and I'm not going to give anything away. To experience Tanner and Abbey's friendship you are going to have to read On a Dark Wing yourself! You won't be sorry.
Overall, On a Dark Wing is a thrilling read. Crazy stuff is happening all the way up until the end. It is told in multiple perspectives, but not too many for it to be overwhelming. A few times they switched perspectives without warning so it was confusing for a line or two, but then you are sucked right back into the story that you don't even notice. Such a great story!

I just changed my Abbi Glines badge from "fan girl" to "super fan girl". Seriously, everything she writes becomes sparkly and amazing. At least for me. I loved Existence so much! Dank makes me all swoony and weak in the knees. One of my favorite books of 2011.
I'm sure my review will not do the book justice, but I will try anyways. The characters make this book for me. Abbi Glines characters are all so wonderful. They are complex and likable, addicting and so believable. That is key for me, you get sucked right into their world and you feel like you belong in it. Like you are right there in the middle of the story. It's amazing. That's why I have such a hard time putting down her books. I get so absorbed in them that the next thing I know its 3 am and I'm still awake reading.
I LOVED Dank. He is so mysterious but right away you can tell that he is attached to Pagan. My only complaint about the whole book is that I wanted to see more of Dank. Im really hoping that in the next book we get to see a little bit of his POV. PLEASSEEE!? I'm a sucker for guy's point of view.
Pagan was a pretty cool main character too. She was logical and nice, but she was still a teenager. When love came into the equation she went a little crazy, like we all tend to do. I loved that you could feel Dank's emotions where Pagan was concerned. He had a crazy sense of desperation about him sometimes. I need to know more about him. I just need to.
This book had me on a crazy roller coaster ride. It was mysterious and just when I thought I knew what was going to happen next, to threw me for a loop. I'm particularly talking about the last 15% of the book. So much happens near the end that you will need to hold onto your seat. But it is awesome and you will love every second of it. The last page had me super duper happy and shocked at the same time. My mind is already cranking at top speed trying to figure out what is going to happen next. I can't wait to find out. If you have not read any Abbi Glines books, you are really missing out! This is one book that I would pick up ASAP!

Boyfriend From Hell is funny! That was the first thing that struck me about this book. It's a good story, with some humor interjected throughout. Megan has it kind of rough throughout the book- her friends turn on her, she feels completely alone, her mom's relationship is changing. All of those things are really tough to deal with, and throw in the boyfriend from hell element and you can see why the humor was a welcome addition to the book. I thought it was the perfect amount.
Megan was not my favorite heroine ever, nor was she my least favorite. She just kind of floated somewhere in the middle for me. She was stubborn and immature. She was never happy for anyone else when something good was happening for them. She only focused on the fact that she didn't have that going for her. when her two friends started dating, she got annoyed that she had no one. Same thing for her mom. That is what bugged me the most about her. Now in her defense, she did grow up a lot by the end of the book. She befriended a really nice girl and she was kind of justified in freaking out the way she did. (at least in one of the cases. I'm not going to tell you which though. :p) I liked her friends Matt and Erin.(Though both of them caught me completely off guard. One in this book and one in the next! Talk about being blindsided by a plot twist!)
Guy was another story. From the moment he showed up, something felt weird about him. Maybe it was because I'm not into the whole bad boy "let's skip class" thing, but I was not his biggest fan for a while. Like almost the whole book, actually. Be sure to let me know what you thought of him if you have read this book because I feel like I'm in the minority here.
Overall, Boyfriend from Hell was a good book. I'm certainly interested in finding out what is going to happen next! There are so many possibilities based on the way this book ended. What happened in the end completely shocked and crushed me. I was so sad, and I didn't like it simply because that is not what I wanted to happen. But that happens sometimes, and now I am even more curious than ever to see how the next book is going to turn out. Bring on Earth Angel!

I liked this book more than the first one in the trilogy, and from the way it ended it seems like the last book is going to be the best one yet! Earth Angel totally changed my view of Megan and Guy. I liked both of them so much more, and I felt like I really got to know each of them so much better.
Megan has shown so much character growth. It makes me kind of proud really. I felt so bad for her in most of this book because of what was going on with Erin and her mom. It was just not fair at all! More people need to trust Megan, including me. Well from about page 20, she had earned my trust completely. I am not happy to say that I am on team Megan! :) I love when a character starts out kind of iffy and then through their trials and tribulations they mature in some way. I love to read about their journey and actually witness their progress. That's what happened with Megan.
Guy was another character that I did a 180 with. My feelings for him completely changed. In Earth Angel, you really get to see into Guy's head and get some idea about who he really is. And the true guy, is pretty great. He should have just been himself the whole time. He didn't need to pull that bad boy act. But I guess it worked with Megan. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have seen more of Guy in this book. But instead we got to see some new characters- Harrison and Rocky. I liked them, but now that I had warmed up to Guy I wanted to see more of him.
I loved the little surprises we found out about Megan and I can't wait to see even more about these developments in the next book. I bet we are going to see some really cool stuff.
Megan's friendship with Maudrina touched my heart. I really enjoyed seeing them get closer and become better friends. She needed that after Erin went crazy. (which I totally did not like. BOO ERIN!!) I wanted to get some more insight into the whole Erin/Matt situation but that did not get addressed at all in this book. Oh well, maybe in the next book there will be a fight or resolution between Megan and Erin, but I have to say I am not at all impressed with this new Erin.
Overall, Earth Angel was a really good second book in the Fallen Angels trilogy. I found it to be more interesting than the first. Probably because the foundation had already been set and we already knew all the characters. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next. Another killer ending that left me sad, but I am hopeful that Megan will be able to fix the situation in the next book.

Wow! This was such a great book! It took me a while to figure out what was going on in this world because everything was so different, but once I got my bearings, I loved it so much! KaSonndra Leigh really creates such a rich, and detailed world that it is insane to think that it used to be the United States. It's so different. I especially loved how everything was there for a reason, every person, every place, and every item came into play later on in the book. And not always in the ways that I had imagined. That is great story telling.(it is more like great world building)
Chela is so kick butt and awesome. I admired her so much! She will stop at nothing to find out what happened to her brother. I love that she questions everything. She will do whatever it takes, no matter what stands in her way. And boy oh boy did she have a lot of obstacles in her path. But she never even faltered- she just keep plowing right through everything. And she even attracted the attention of multiple guys. The guy factor was a problem for me. She has this nice, sweet, loyal best friend who clearly cares about her a lot. Those are all the things that I love in male characters, so it was really hard for me to see him competing with Faris. I have such a soft spot for Jalen. He is so awesome.
Faris is pretty great too, but I kind of wanted it to be Jalen right from the start. Faris is a good guy too, so he did have that going for him. I really grew to like him and I ended up wanting Chela and Faris to get together but I still felt a little conflicted with good ole Jalen. I guess we will see what happens in book 2. But I do have one complaint about Faris. What is it with all the guys in books lately being described as "hot with long hair"? Sorry, but long hair on a guy just does not do it for me. So whenever they would describe Faris' ponytail, I would conveniently not picture him that way.
When Copper Suns Fall is such an excellent book! I went into the book expecting to enjoy it and I came out of it wanting to read it all over again. I loved it so much more than I thought I would!! It exceeded all of my expectations. The world just sucks you right in and the characters really come to life. Great book, and I cannot wait to read the next one!

This book was a nice, fast magical read. It completely changed my opinion of elves. Keegan comes from a really magical place. I know her family is not human, but there were a ton of other non-humans living right under her nose for so long. I thought that she would have noticed. It was like a little magical community. I read Coexist really quickly. It is the kind of read that you can just fly through. It has really nice pacing and the storyline just flows along. I love books like that, because it means there are no slow or dull parts; they keep my interest for the whole time.
Keegan is a really interesting girl. She is described as beautiful and she flies through guys. She is just having fun until she meets her chosen, Rourk. I loved that whenever she thought his name, he was drawn to her. I also really liked how mysterious she was to him. (He didn't even know her name for the longest time.) Keegan was at first described as clumsy, but as soon as she started training with her brother that all changed. She became almost perfect, beautiful, smart, nice, and coordinated. Everything came so easy to her. Sure, she trained a lot, but she didn't seem to struggle with anything ever. I would have liked to see some more strife somewhere in her life. But I really liked Keegan, so I enjoyed seeing everything fall into place with her. And I loved the description of her family's house. It seemed so cool and beautiful! All that glass, and even a waterfall inside! So awesome.
Rourk was another one of those perfect characters. He was good looking, nice, strong, chivalrous, and completely head over heels for Keegan. He would do anything for her. I have yet to see a flaw, he didn't even act on his jealous impulses ever. (though with how the book ended, maybe we will see some more jealousy in book 2?) I really liked Rourk but I wanted to get to know him a little better. I loved his parts in the book, so I can't wait to find out more about him in book 2.
I liked the whole light v. dark theme in Coexist, but we hardly saw any of the dark elves. I want to learn more about their history. I think that might give me a better idea about their motives. I have a feeling that we will be seeing more about them in the next book and I can't wait!
Aside from a lot of the characters being seemingly flawless, coexist was a really engaging read. I enjoyed myself the whole time, and I wanted to read more! It is such a cute and magical read. I loved learning about elves and the history behind their mating process. I thought that was really unique. The ending was such a surprise and honestly it was my favorite part of the book. I was sad with what happened, but it will add some drama into book 2. I think the second book is going to be excellent! I can't wait to see what is going to happen with Keegan, Rourk and the whole gang. (particularly Donald) So many new elements came into play at the end of this book and I can't wait to see how they all fit into the story. I need to read the second book right now!

This book sent me on an emotional roller coaster ride! It started out so interest. I loved the concept of her being a half angel demon fighter! And things were building up so nicely. I liked all the characters, the plot was moving at a good speed- I was a happy girl. Then, right about half way through the book Paige Cuccaro did something that ripped my heart out! I was so crushed, and I thought for sure that something would miraculously happen later on to fix this incident. So I kept reading, partly because I was so invested in the characters and partly because I wanted her to undo what she had done. Now I'm not going to tell you what happened or how the book ended, but I will tell you this: read Hellsbane and finish it through to the end because I was so glad that I did! I really enjoyed this book, and while I am still not quite over the heartbreaking parts, the story line and the characters make up for it. I have to know what is going to happen next. I have to know more about Emma Jane. So much was hinted at and I want to know what it all means.
Emma Jane is a really cool character. You know she has all this power, but I really liked that she didn't just pick it all up over night like a natural. She needed help killing demons for a while and there were people there to watch her back. I like that she didn't just pick up a sword and go at it like a pro. She had to work for it. And I also like that there is still so much that we don't know about her. I can't wait to find out what other secrets Emma Jane has! Bring on book 2 please!!
Another thing, Emma has potential guys galore. Seriously, they are everywhere she goes, and I'm not sure who I like best with her. Eli is so mysterious and hot, but he is an angel so I'm not sure I would want that for him. And then the other guys have issues too. I can't wait to see what is going to develop on the love front for our pretty little Emma Jane.
So what is my final take on Hellsbane? Were there things I would have changed about the book? YES! Well, maybe only one thing. (and it might have something to do with a certain wanna be pitcher...) But I really, really liked this book! I love how everything was described, I love the character development, I love the writing, and I love Emma's last name! Overall, Hellsbane is a well written book with an awesome plot and characters that seemed so real. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I really liked this book. This book was about Witches, but instead of calling themselves witches they said that they had a "talent". Tamsin in the main character in this story and she has not developed her "talent" so she is kind of the family outcast. As a result she is a little snarky, which I loved! I thought she was a really enjoyable character. I really like how she did not like her name for the whole book, and then she finally figured out why she was named Tamsin. I thought that was a really cute reason. I liked it.
Speaking of enjoyable characters, I want Gabriel all to myself please! He is awesome, and he clearly likes Tam a lot. I thought it was so cute that he kept asking her why she never wrote back to him. He sounded so sad and lost every time he brought it up.
The storyline was really cool, and they get to time travel! Really fun, I was intrigued the whole time I was reading and I devoured this book in one sitting. I just couldn't stop reading. I had to know what was going to happen and how the whole book pieced together. The setting for everything just seemed so mysterious, and I loved how everything came together in the end.
I cannot wait for the second book, Always a Witch, coming out in August 2011. I really wish it was coming out right now, August seems too far away!
This was a really great book and a very enthralling read!
