Boyfriend From Hell
by E. Van Lowe
Boyfriend From Hell is funny! That was the first thing that struck me about this book. It's a good story, with some humor interjected throughout. Megan has it kind of rough throughout the book- her friends turn on her, she feels completely alone, her mom's relationship is changing. All of those things are really tough to deal with, and throw in the boyfriend from hell element and you can see why the humor was a welcome addition to the book. I thought it was the perfect amount.
Megan was not my favorite heroine ever, nor was she my least favorite. She just kind of floated somewhere in the middle for me. She was stubborn and immature. She was never happy for anyone else when something good was happening for them. She only focused on the fact that she didn't have that going for her. when her two friends started dating, she got annoyed that she had no one. Same thing for her mom. That is what bugged me the most about her. Now in her defense, she did grow up a lot by the end of the book. She befriended a really nice girl and she was kind of justified in freaking out the way she did. (at least in one of the cases. I'm not going to tell you which though. :p) I liked her friends Matt and Erin.(Though both of them caught me completely off guard. One in this book and one in the next! Talk about being blindsided by a plot twist!)
Guy was another story. From the moment he showed up, something felt weird about him. Maybe it was because I'm not into the whole bad boy "let's skip class" thing, but I was not his biggest fan for a while. Like almost the whole book, actually. Be sure to let me know what you thought of him if you have read this book because I feel like I'm in the minority here.
Overall, Boyfriend from Hell was a good book. I'm certainly interested in finding out what is going to happen next! There are so many possibilities based on the way this book ended. What happened in the end completely shocked and crushed me. I was so sad, and I didn't like it simply because that is not what I wanted to happen. But that happens sometimes, and now I am even more curious than ever to see how the next book is going to turn out. Bring on Earth Angel!
