Such a great series with a bit of a twist compared to your standard police procedural. I love Madison and Nate and getting to see their characters grow with each book. This is a fast-paced read with twists and turns to keep you hooked until the end.

This is book 3 in a series that is set in Lost Beach, Texas, and has recurring characters but each book focuses on a different pair of main characters. I have somehow missed book 1 but I have read 2 & 3 and I will be going back for the first one asap. They can all be read as stand alones though. I love this series because it is the perfect balance of murder and romance. The murder kept me guessing until the end which is added to the suspense of whether Owen and Macy will do anything about their attraction to each other. There are also a range of other lovable characters that I hope we get to see more of. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Another great addition to the series. I was kept guessing by the dark and gruesome murders. This follows up with a character that was introduced in the previous book so i would recommend reading at least that one first, if not all of them. Now I'm still not a Poppy fan but, I do think that she mixes it up a bit because all the other characters are more lovable. I thought the honeymoon was a bit much but it was still an enjoyable read that I didn’t want to put down. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I adore Helen Phifer and this series is such a great read. I would recommend reading in order though just to get the characters back story. I love that we finally get an answer to the will they get together question that's been hanging over Morgan and Ben since book 1 and I have to say I have finally warmed to the idea. There's a new boss and I spent the whole book questioning if he was what he seems. Morgan has also calmed down and seems to be thinking before she acts. This also means the team works together which is great because I love her team. The murders are creepy and I was hooked from beginning to end. Definitely recommend and I look forward to more.  I used to adore this series and then I hated the last two books. So much so, that I nearly didn’t read this one. However, I am pleased to say that the storytelling I fell in love with is back. Now, this is an extremely heavy topic and a tough read at times but it is written sensitively and is a powerful story of fighting against abuse and corruption. I also really appreciate that Michael Wood starts the book with a trigger warning for child abuse. Matilda is back to working with her team and the lovable bunch work well together. After the last two books, it was nice to see my favourite characters healing. The tension builds as you try and work out who can be trusted and how they will ever get the evidence needed for a historic case. With the victim being an evil person, you kind of forget they’re supposed to be hunting a killer too. My only issue with this book is the fatphobia. They constantly talk about how hideous the villain was because he’s fat and how he was an abuser because no one wanted to have sex with him or would ever love him because he was so fat. I normally love this series but I struggled to get into this one. It was predictable and much of the same. Helen fights against the boss, ignores all orders and tries to do everything herself whilst Emilia waits to splash her on the front page and make her life difficult. Helen’s actions were just a mess. She has about 5 different chase scenes which are all exactly the same and the amount of injuries she sustains without needing a hospital is ridiculous. I just found Helen’s character almost unlikable in this book. I do love the short punchy chapters which make it a fast paced read but there are so many different POV’s that it’s hard to keep everything straight. It’s such a shame because the rest of this series is a fantastic read.

This author seems to be hit or miss. I’ve read a few that I’ve loved but this one was a bit of a miss for me. It didn’t pack the suspense that her thrillers usually do. I found Eve annoying and her actions seemed a bit odd. The blurb also exaggerated the risk to her child. The story dragged in the middle and then it seemed to wrap up in one chapter. However, I was intrigued by what had happened to Philippa and the twist was interesting. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

This is a great psychological thriller. It is a slow burn but it still had me hooked. I had no idea how Hannah was going to get Belle out of the mess she was unknowingly in. I did find Belle came across as incredibly naive and immature which made her chapters frustrating to read. I thought the twist was super obvious and then we got the explosive end and I was not expecting that. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
