This is the first book I’ve read in this series and it works fine as a standalone. It’s an ok read. It felt like a bit of a slog to get through and then the ending was very rushed. I worked out the twist pretty early on and there was nothing extra. I also couldn’t really work out Kate and Tristans relationship.

Helen Fields is one of my favourite authors and this book was no exception. I loved it. I also didn't realise, until the main characters seemed a bit familiar, that it is a standalone sequel to The Shadow Man, another fantastic read. Connie is such an interesting main character and I really enjoyed getting to know more about her and what she had to endure when she was younger. The Institution is such a creepy setting, which paired with the risk of them being locked in, really amped up the tension. I also had no idea who could be trusted or who the killer was. If you enjoy crime thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat then I highly recommend this one, as well as The Sadow Man.

I really enjoyed the few books I’ve read from Gwyn Bennetts' Dr Harrison Lane series so I was excited to start a new series from her. The Saskia Monet series follows a forensic psychologist who has a personal interest in psychopaths due to her family. I loved Saskia’s character as well as DI Winter Labey. They worked well together and I look forward to seeing how their chemistry works out. I am also very intrigued by David and what terrible things he’s going to get up to. The psychopathic family element makes Saskia’s job so much more interesting and adds some tension. I look forward to finding out more about why they had to leave the UK. As for the kidnapping case, it was slow going and the pace of the book drops off in the middle to the point that I found my interest waning. However, the end reveal was full of suspense and drama. It was an enjoyable crime read and I will definitely be checking out any additions to the series.

This is the 3rd and final book in the influencer series. I’m so sad that this series is over because it was so much fun. They can all be read as standalones as they have 3 best friends as the overlapping characters and they are the cutest friendship group. I want to be besties with them so bad.

Exe’s and O’s was definitely my favourite but this one was still a great read. Cora’s Cove was the perfect small town setting packed with so many lovable characters. I adored Evan’s family and the scenes where they interacted with Mel were either funny or adorable. This book definitely gave me a giggle or two.

Mel and Evan were super cute together and I loved that Mel’s love of fashion was embraced instead of belittled. You can be a bit extra and still love nature (minus the creepy crawlies). Evan was the perfect hot grumpy fisherman with a secret soft side (the lashes) and who doesn’t love a man in flannel? My only issue is I’m not a fan of insta love and boy do these guys move fast. However, it is addressed and is part of the reason for the 3rd act conflict so it didn’t ruin the story for me. If you love a fun romance with some spice mixed in then I recommend this series. This book also gave me It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey vibes so if you enjoyed that definitely give this a go.

I am a huge fan of Mike Omer’s Abbie Mullen and Zoe Bentley series so I was excited to get stuck into this one. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me. I really struggled to connect with the characters and the writing just didn’t flow well. It was wordy and there was so much unnecessary filler. I only persevered because I wanted to know who it was and I’m not sure it was worth it. The author spends the whole book ramming a suspect down our throats and making him seem like the only bad guy only for the reveal to be completely obscure. Robin came across as immature and considering she was a therapist she had a lot of mummy issues. Her therapy sessions where she narrates what the child is doing were cringey to read and didn’t add anything to the story. Nothing really happens apart from some long winded therapy sessions and Robin nearly having a breakdown. The drama at the end was slightly more exciting than the rest of the book. I would recommend checking out Omer's other work instead though.

This is such a fantastic series and although each book can be read as a standalone I recommend reading them in order so that you understand the characters and their growth. Madison and Nate are such great characters and I’m really rooting for them both. I’m not 100% sure how I feel about a certain event in their personal life but I look forward to reading more. As for the murder, I had no idea who the killer was and I wasn’t expecting that twist. The pace does slow in the middle as they work on identifying the family and you can feel the frustration of not much happening. It soon picks up again and the flashbacks start to make way more sense.

I loved the first book of this series so I was excited to jump into this one. It is such a fun read and Christmas Notch is the perfect setting for some festive spice. We get to revisit some much loved characters from the first book as well as some new ones. However, this can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed seeing Winnie unlearn the purity culture she was brought up in and Kallum was a big sweetie. I love a dual POV and this was done perfectly. The spice kicks in pretty quickly (definitely not a slow burn) but it fits in with the story and isn’t just sex for spice sake. It would have been a 5 star read except (Spoiler) I hate the unexpected pregnancy trope. I didn’t enjoy the second half of the book as much because of this. I also thought the conflict was dragged out for a tad too long. However, I did like that we get to see both characters grow individually instead of trying to fix each other and the end was adorable. I really hope we get to see more from some of the other characters because there are so many that I love and Simone & Murphy just work so well together.

I can’t believe we’re already on book 10 and that it’s still such a great series with so many lovable characters. The teams banter always makes me laugh and Ben & Morgan are still adorable. I also love Ettie and the witchy element made this book even more interesting. As usual, Morgan manages to get herself into trouble, although in her defense it’s not her fault this time. There are a few suspects to keep you guessing and I had no idea who it was going to be until just before it was dramatically revealed.

This is such a fun festive read. It’s the perfect Christmas romcom. I only discovered Kristen Bailey last year but I’m now a big fan. This book had me laughing out loud but there was also a lot of heart packed in. The scene setting is beautifully done and you feel like you’re driving through London with them. The ring stories were such a great addition and meant there were so many incredible characters. It's dual POV and I quickly fell in love with both Eve and Joe as well as their families. I did find Joe a tad ridiculous when he overheard a certain conversation when he’d been in love with Eve whilst she’d had a boyfriend and she’d only been single for 24 hours. They were super cute together and the book flows perfectly. I read it all in one sitting because I was having such a good time. I just wish it wasn’t all wrapped up so quickly.
