this book… i have pros and cons…
pros: the story had so much potential to be so good, kip was fun and i enjoyed seeing him grow, when the relationship was healthy it was cute!
cons: it was… toxic. so toxic. kip and scott would rapidly switch from loving eachother to hating the relationship. if they communicated more, it would’ve been SO good

if all i could do was write a one sentence review, it would be this:
i love zeke and carter.
however i can write more and i will. first, zeke being demi and carter just?? accepting, understanding, and respecting this identity??? perfection. i am obsessed. but also, carters casual acceptance of everything about zeke without question is something so special.
second, i loved the way zeke went all in on what carter loves and carter went all in on what zeke loves without making it into a huge deal. simply shifting your life to fit your partners is one of my favorite signs of love.
would’ve been a 5 star read with a tad more grandma content, an epilogue, and not ending on a cliffhanger while the next books aren’t out yet (i am impatient but respect the author too much to actually be upset about this fact. this is a me issue, not a them issue)

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!
Anthony and Nico were such a fun dynamic and I loved getting to watch their story play out.
I also love the disability representation. I feel like head injuries aren’t as prominent in hockey romances which feels… odd considering it’s such a physical sport.
I loved getting to watch the subplot with the grumpy goalie, i loved getting to see the characters from the other books again, and i loved the vibes!!

not a HUGE age gap fan, but i really enjoyed the dynamic between the two. when i first picked it up, i was mad it was corwin and the man we were made to hate in book 1, but i get it now. i understand. i support it.
in book 1, i loved corwin and im so glad he got his own story (and happy ending)

I love a gay awakening, especially when it feels so obvious. Sam slowly realizing he was queer, specifically that maybe he didn’t really like women at all was so funny to watch.
I love the character dynamics, I love the relationships, i love the found family of it all.
One thing i wish was that sam’s character was more consistent because i felt like his characterization was a bit all over the place.

as much as i’m NOT an age gap girlie, i loved the personal dynamic between russ and liam. i think they had such fun banter throughout the book.
this series is so good and i am obsessed with hockey romances right now.

i love a good enemies to friends to lovers, especially when it happens soooo smooth.
it is always such a fun time to watch grumps turn into sunshine’s.
the one thing i wish was the end was more clear on HOW they decided to come out as a couple and the process instead of just mentioning it.

as a fellow aroace, this book was everything i needed to read when i was younger and first figuring out my identity. the simplicity in which almost everyone around the main characters just accepts their identities, the conversations about platonic love being just as important and impactful as romantic love, the various stages of acceptance, and (as a girlie who is also from Massachusetts) Massachusetts love and appreciation.
jo and sophie are such important characters, and i loved getting to watch their love grow through the book. im so lucky that i have a handful of fellow a-spec/aro-spec friends, so their relationship feels so special to me.

this book helped heal some grief trauma i had been holding onto for nearly a decade. the way jonny writes is breathtaking, and the characters feel so real.
every jonny book ive read is an easy 5⭐️ read and im happy to say this one continues that streak.
