Found this gem while organizing my kindle books. Apparently, I purchased it in 2017 and it's no longer available for purchase on Amazon.
It was quick and funny. Reminded me of the tv show where my girl Tonya Harding and some dudes use to laugh at dumb criminals.
As a reader I found the guy who tried to rob a bookstore with a cucumber in a sock hilarious. Was not surprised that more than one criminal hailed from Ohio and/or Florida.

I needed more with this.
This novella follows our FMC Maxi as she navigates the work-life balance at a time where both work and life are presenting scenarios out of her control.
Maxi is intelligent and emotionally strong, but she comes off very cool and at times emotionless. Her thoughts and actions don't always align and as a reader it was frustrating. She wasn't likable. All the supporting characters were though. I would gladly read a full-length book featuring Maxi and her circle just for the happiness everyone BUT her brought me.

Mind Fucking Blown!!!!
This is a dark one. It's fascinating, disgusting, frustrating, shocking, fear inducing, and just insanely well written and captivating. I couldn't put this down.
I love the format of the letters written from a mother to her daughter. It's clear to readers she suffers from mental illness. The letters leave you guessing as to what is real and what are hallucinations. The very descriptive imagery of bugs and scent created a clear image in my head of a house of horrors. The incorporation of 911 Calls and Police Reports brought it all together and answered all unknowns.
READ EVERY SINGLE CONTENT WARNING BEFORE READING THIS!
This is not for the faint of heart. Especially those who can't read about the unaliving, sa, or shaming of children and/or dogs.

I love the formatting and the change from poetry to story to poetry. I felt like we saw many milestones and defining moments in the author's life. Her words flow like a rap song. The descriptive backgrounds really allowed me to envision her on the island, at dinner, in a hotel. At times flexing and others feeling shattered. Highly Recommend.

This is a hard one to review. This is a collection of stories, several I really liked and a few I lost all interest in and felt forced to read.
Let's start with the good. This collection of stories ranges in emotion from educational, emotional, reflective, to funny, and fascinating. There were stand out stories like The Switching Tree, Reunion, Caitlin Clarke, and Owen that gave me Black Mirror vibes. I would love to see them adapted.
Then there was Triggered and Weird Black Girl. They seemed to drag and centered on liberal activism and race. But the tone was obnoxious vs insightful.
What drew me to this book was the cover and the title. Weird Black Girls: Stories. However, a majority of the stories didn't feature black women as MCs or at all. The first story The Switching Tree did have a black POC and the story was enjoyable and weird. But that was the only one that matched the title.
I'm not suggesting that the lack of Black FMCs in the collection was an issue, it just didn't fit and left me a little confused by the title choice.

Ya'll things are popping off. So, this is the 2nd prequal in The Cambion Rider Chronicles. Read Siren first if you are interested in this one.
In this short story we are introduced to Lachlan who is a dragon. Despite other preternatural beings being out in this world, dragons, demons, and a few others are still in hiding.
In Siren we met our girl Veronica who is a badass Chicago police detective with a mysterious connection to the supernatural community.
In this book we've upgraded from CPD to a Freelancer with FBI ties who suspects our girl of being a serial killer. This was a total tease. We are given soo much tea and then left on a cliff hanger!
But it's a good one. Like I screamed and smiled and am super hyped to finally START this series. There is a ton of potential with this.

Black female police detective that has a mysterious connection to the supernatural. Because of this she is totally badass hunting criminals in a world where the paranormal are known. Vampires, Witches, and Fae Oh My!
This is an incredibly fast paced suspenseful and satisfying bad ass short story that serves as an introduction to the characters of the full-length series The Cambion Rider Chronicles.
It was giving Anita Blake and Hallows vibes. If you like supernatural murder mystery this one is for you!

Audrey Rush is on of the most adorable human beings I've ever seen. She's a tiny little sprite that just radiates sunshine. And she writes some of the most fucked up dark and depraved shit I've ever read.
This is maybe my 4th or 5th read and each time I'm left shook.
First chapter of this Erotic Horror we have a chick who steals from men after seducing them. Her taxi driver/stalker/potential killer likes this about her and sucks on a used condom to taste her....
That's NASTY AF! I was like OMG Audrey you didn't?!?! Oh, but she didn't stop there. Add in a serial killer that wears a crazy leather BDSM mask, Familicide, Incest, a Murder Suicide Anniversary party with tequila shots at a Murder House, Dating App Hookups, Stalking, Blackmail, Erotic Asphyxiation, and last but not least Ned. I love Ned!
Ned is absolutely nicest guy. He gives off Sean Astin Stranger Things Season 2 vibes. IYKYK.
