Real world issues : Domestic Violence, Alcoholism, and Veteran Suicide are all part of this story. I like that this book/series has a darker more realistic setting.
Allie is hardworking, practical, loyal, and a true ride or die. I am so happy that she never compromised or back downed. Carter is messy. Efforts were made but not enough for him to be vindicated.
Grant and Walter were valuable in this story. I like it when the secondary characters have their own drama within the main story.

This was probably the "darkest" story out of all 14 books I've read by this author. And while I devoured all 7 of the Svensson books, none of them had guns, drugs, and death like the Holbrooks. They are true corporate gangsters. I bet Greg Svensson is too.
There are so many aspects of this book that I enjoyed. The look into the current state of Grant and Kate's marriage as well as Carter's still ongoing struggle with alcohol and immaturity. I like that the author didn't just make the men perfect now that they found love. I like that someone finally said he these insane love story timelines are not practical.
I didn't love Liz. She was very naive and too forgiving. Sadly her personality type is similar to a woman that could easily become a victim to domestic violence. With that said, she is incredibly capable and intelligent. Having already read ahead, I am more pleased with how her story progresses.
Wes is okay. I didn't fall in love with him like I did Grant. He has issues but I feel like he could have worked out a lot of them in counseling. I was very disappointed about how he treated his mom. She was not presented as anything other than a blue collar woman who loved her kids. He is very selfish and attempted to be a martyr for a non-existent cause. I also am not happy with how he failed to communicate with Dana when their relationship was presented as strong.
Overall this is a solid series and I would highly recommend it.

FINALLY people didn't just let the jealous ex act a fool without checking her ass! I liked so many things about this book. I loved that people didn't just accept toxic behavior. I was thrilled that the lady love interest didn't have a deep dark secret she was trying to hide. There was NEVER an irrational outburst fueled by insecurity. Poor communication sure, but no big scandalous moments.
Jack really wasn't anything special to me. He seemed like a nice guy, kind of oblivious, not too aggressive, family oriented, but could probably be more involved.
Chloe was super cute. She was effortlessly likable. Since I'm reading Alina's books out of order I had already met Chloe and thought highly of her. It was nice to be reintroduced and seeing her insecurities and the foundation that her growth was built on.
This is a cute rom com that would be perfect on Lifetime.
*The sex was pretty vanilla

This was a quick short that provided progress on Chloe's bakery and a quickie in the kitchen. It was sufficient.
I'm going to be honest, I did not want to read this book. I read the except at the end of another story and just was not impressed. With that said, I still pre-ordered it and put it on my to read list because Gina is an amazing author and has never let me down.
I devoured this book in less than 10 hours. (Stupid work slowed me down) This story gave me all of the feels. Kayser is so open, honest, and raw. You feel everything his pain, anger, lust, insecurities. I don't think I've ever wanted a fictional character the way I want him. He is simply a specimen of flawed magnificence.
Cookie was/is the perfect companion for him. I love her darkness. She embraced that shit without any regret. I loved that she was rational.. for the most part. Her empathy, compassion, accountability, forgiveness and open communication was a breath of fresh air.
I pray that this series continues as I believe that Jareth and Micah have stories to be told. Peal Jean is a trip and needs some action for sure. The realm is one of wonder and demands to be explored further.
I gave this book 5 stars. I only give 5 stars if a book produces a strong emotional response from me. I think having to put the book down to go throw water on my face, chew ice, and adjust my panties counts as a strong response. I highly recommend this book and anything else written by Gina Showalter.

If I had read this as a stand alone book I would have loved it. This book was funny and hot. Sadly for me, there were just too many identical or damn near identical scenes from the first book that it bothered me. With that said, it was in no way a turn off. I liked this book.
Owen was so cute and grumpy, however like so many male leads before him, he gets sexually harassed and stalked and doesn't know how to handle it. At first the idea of a powerful man being treated like this seemed unrealistic but after speaking to a few of my single male friends I found out that chicks really be this crazy in real life. Also his crazy parents are something else and obviously learned nothing from the first book.
I love how Holly was aware of the crazy chicks and did her best not to let them bait her. I liked that she didn't get all huffy and engage in their bullshit. But once she snapped she meant business. Although, just like Chloe, there was an entire backstory of a dead grandmother and that bugged me a bit because of the similarities.
I did enjoy the increased interactions with the Svensson brothers. I was disappointed that I didn't get the crazy chick show down that was implied. Morticia is a freaking boss, I want her as a friend.
I could see this book being adapted on Netflix for the holidays.

I really liked this. Very cute and we get to see the littlest Svenssons.
It's like watching a Netflix movie with Mark Wahlberg and Yaya DeCosta and I'm here for it. There was so much action, excitement, and laughter.
The only things that annoyed me were the ever changing colors of Cam's eyes. Teal, blue, green, he's a prism. Also Dreas hair was described as straight in the beginning but the texture never mentioned again. With all that this chick went through, brief mention of natural texture would have been appreciated.
I'm excited to hear more about the rest of the security team. I went from being hesitant about this series to wanting more.

This was by far the best Frost book. It was completely unique and entertaining. If read as a stand alone, one would not be aware of the massive differences in personality and relationships that Jonathan has in comparison to his big brothers.
He definitely is conflicted and has middle child syndrome. His fear of abandonment and his need to be loved is incredibly sweet and I just wanted to hug him several times throughout this book. Also, unlike his brothers he was very into being a part of the bake off and relished in the attention. It was a good change of pace from the grumpy resistance in the previous stories.
This is the third or fourth book I've read with Morticia. She has always been one of my favorite characters. She is incredibly talented, loyal, sarcastic, and entertaining. I pictured every dirty look, eyebrow raise, and flat tone she conveyed. I love her overall aesthetic and thick skin.
Side characters like Dorthey and the Svensson brothers were entertaining and kept me laughing. I was so grateful to get more insight on the Belle and Greg situation and can not wait for this book. While this can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading every single book written in this Billionaire world starting with the the Holbrooks.
I would love to see this made into a movie. It's too hot for Hallmark but I could see this on Lifetime or FX.

Funny quick read thats not bogged down with a lot of over analyzing or unnecessary drama. Damon and Chelsea have a great connection and communicate really well. I liked it.
