Tasting Her Christmas Cookies
by Alina Jacobs
If I had read this as a stand alone book I would have loved it. This book was funny and hot. Sadly for me, there were just too many identical or damn near identical scenes from the first book that it bothered me. With that said, it was in no way a turn off. I liked this book.
Owen was so cute and grumpy, however like so many male leads before him, he gets sexually harassed and stalked and doesn't know how to handle it. At first the idea of a powerful man being treated like this seemed unrealistic but after speaking to a few of my single male friends I found out that chicks really be this crazy in real life. Also his crazy parents are something else and obviously learned nothing from the first book.
I love how Holly was aware of the crazy chicks and did her best not to let them bait her. I liked that she didn't get all huffy and engage in their bullshit. But once she snapped she meant business. Although, just like Chloe, there was an entire backstory of a dead grandmother and that bugged me a bit because of the similarities.
I did enjoy the increased interactions with the Svensson brothers. I was disappointed that I didn't get the crazy chick show down that was implied. Morticia is a freaking boss, I want her as a friend.
I could see this book being adapted on Netflix for the holidays.
