Eh. I actually have a lot of thoughts on this book, but too many to fit them into a short couple of sentences. Long story short, this was too long, too boring and too forced. I'm honestly completely confused by this series. I really thought this was Riordan's debut series so I was super lenient towards the first 2 books but, RR actually wrote this after PJO??? I liked book 1 but it really felt like Riordan gave up after that.

"My children, who don't know they play on a graveyard."
I have no idea how to review this book. I think it makes sense that it was written this way, but it was too slow for me and I found that I wasn't really enjoying the book until the last 10%, and by then it was too late.
I find it hard to vocalise my thoughts on this book and this trilogy as a whole, but I guess if there's one thing that I've really enjoyed it's seeing how Katniss adapts to the environments she's in. In each book in the trilogy, she's been able to adapt but still stay the same person, while also developing as a character and I've really appreciated that side of this trilogy.

I honestly have no idea where to start with this book. I really struggled with rating it because this book, in all honestly, is a complete and total mess. The first half was boring and angsty, so much that I DNF'd it last year and it took me 8 months to convince myself to pick it up again, and the second half actually wasn't too bad. But, then CC hit us with the incest and the entire book was ruined for me. I am SO sick of the incest, I swear to god, once I'm finished with this series I am never touching it again. Never.

This book was way too centred on Clace. I found myself wanting to skim some of the pages in Clary's pov because she was just so obsessed with talking about Jace the whole time.

Big Agatha Christie x If We Were Villains vibes just not as good, unfortunately.
This is one of those really cool ideas where all of the pov characters are stuck in one location and somehow, they all know each other + they’re all “bad” or sketchy people with a somewhat dreadful past. This book has a seriously fantastic drawline: “A Remote Island. An Invitation To Die For” and honestly, whoever wrote it should get a raise but sadly, this book really does not live up its fantastic drawline!
The problem is, I couldn’t remember who half the characters were most of the time, it took too long to get to the actual murder (for my taste) and honestly, this just felt like a b-list murder mystery with a super underwhelming and rushed ending. The setting did the book a lot of favours, but yeah, I don’t think this book ever had any chance of getting gout the 3 star range for me.
That being said, this was a great read for a cold and rainy day like today, curled up with a hot cup of tea and my audiobook on, I was having a damn good time. Another thing I really liked about this book was how it was structured; in between the pre-wedding and wedding chapters you’d get a page or two from someone’s pov after the wedding, once someone’s been murdered and it really upped the suspense and intrigue for me!
TW: abortion (teenager, in the past), deep water, talk of drowning, anxiety, mental health, suicide, “revenge porn”, drug addiction, post-natal depression, sexual assault (non-consensual touching) mentioned in passing, getting drunk, bullying, fat shaming, body hate (use of words like “chubby” and skinny hate themes), self-harm (on page)
*not ace/aro-spec friendly* Talk of how you need to be in a relationship/ having sex/passion to be whole

I'm sure this was well-intentioned and it's gonna really hit the mark for a lot of people but I was so bored reading this. I think if you like the slice of life, short style stories, like My Neighbors the Yamadas (1999) you should give this a try!

Unfortunately, I didn't *love* this book in the series either, but I loved every other book in the series, so I still count this as a win! I love these characters and have grown very attached to them over the years as I've been reading the series, and I'm honestly upset that this series is over. I'll definitely be starting The Fowl Twins series this year (I intend to review it, also) because I can never leave this world for too long, Eoin Colfer's books are just SO good!
Also, they changed the narrator for this book and it was such a weird reading experience! After listening to Gerry O'Brien narrate these adventures for 7 books, listening to Nathaniel Parker and his thick Scottish accent (even though the characters are Irish???) was like whiplash, and it definitely changed the reading experience for me!

Definitely one of the least interesting books in the series but, it did include one of my favourite tropes, so that was fun at least. I can't believe there's only one book left in the series and then Artemis Fowl's adventures will be over!

"Remember, girl on fire ... I'm still betting on you."
That ending hurt, it really did. I've always thought this book was better than the first, and in many ways it is, but in terms of my enjoyment level, I think I enjoy book 1 more but, I definitely prefer the second film if that makes sense?? Much more politics which I loved and I'm always here for more Peeta content, but overall it just felt like there was something missing, hopefully, I find it in book 3!
Anyway, I'm going to go and cry now okay bye

“Hate hurts the hater more'n the hated.”
This wasn't a bad book by any means, I just don't know what the point of it was.
TW: misogyny, racism (challenged), physical abuse (domestic)

Didn't love this one as much as I did vol 11, and I especially didn't love the artwork in the last issue, but I am still really looking forward to the next volume. Hopefully, we'll get some good character development and an interesting plotline instead of all this random filler!
