I wish I could say that I loved this because it's got Tarver and Lilac in it but Lilac is barely in this (it's set before the Icarus) and unfortunately I found it completely boring... Oh well, now I can read book 2!

The actual novella is only about 40% of this (the rest is promo stuff for the first 2 books in the trilogy) but I still loved the little insight into Tarver's past. Also there was some Lilac and I always have time for Lilac LaRoux.

This felt like criminal minds fanfiction just with different names. I'm not gonna lie, I skipped a few paragraphs every now and then because so much of it was either boring justifications or explanations or just the characters repeating something they said in the previous chapter. The dialogue also felt really stilted, I can't explain it exactly but it felt sort of like it was written by a robot.
Also, this is a series when it could easily just be combined to make a 300-page book??

Didn't love this quite as much as the first book, but I really enjoyed Anne as the main character. I'm definitely intrigued to read Hugh's book now.

Oh my god, this was ridiculous and embarrassing and so much fun. Reading Julia Quinn's books really just shows me how much of a sucker I am for a good romance trope!

This is exactly the kind of story that I enjoy so this was of course a 5 star read for me. You can really tell this guy was one of the writers on Westworld because it's amazing!

Don't mind me getting re-obsessed with this series in the year of our lord 2021. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. The critiques for this book are completely valid but the truth is I'm so nostalgic for this book (and this trilogy as a whole) that I don't care. I'm total trash for Lilac and Tarver and I don't care who knows it so don't be surprised if you see me re-reading the rest of the trilogy this month too.

This book isn't perfect but it's damn near close. I absolutely love it and I already can't wait to re-read it again!

I think I still need a bit more time to fully process this book but long story short, I loved it. This is totally new to for me, but this had me laughing and crying at the same time- weird but good. This was such an amazing and fast read, I can't wait to read more by Helen Hoang!

God damnit I liked this one too. I had no idea what I would I think of this one but I enjoyed book 1 so much I dove straight into this one without knowing anything about it, but as soon as I realised it was a reimaging of When You Were Sleeping, I was so ON BOARD! I really enjoyed this but oh boy do the un-subtle companion series endings annoy me! I wish the epilogues weren't just promos for the next book!

This felt a bit unfinished/rushed towards the end, to the point where when the narrator announced the epilogue I had to check that my audiobook hadn't skipped. But, I did really enjoy this and I will 100% be continuing this series.

I wish I could say that this was a 5-star read and a new favourite but I just didn't get it. I won't say it wasn't for me, because maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it today, but yeah this was so overwhelming and I think I loved the pitch more than the product.
