Was this necessary? No, but I still enjoyed it. I will say though, it hurts me that this costs the same as the previous 700-page book in the series. Oh well! Get that coin SJM!
I appreciated seeing some of the aftermath of the war as well as the characters rebuilding their lives also Nesta??? I am so excited for A Court of Silver Flames!

Not a mind-blowing conclusion to Feyre's story but still pretty good and it never fails to absolutely shock me how much I love those dreamers!

So much of this book is just background behind-the-scenes war preparation with the (very) occasional action scene. it's very much a character book with a focus on the war as the plot if that makes sense? Like, yes the war is the plot of the book but the actual point of the book is developing the characters and getting to know characters like Elain, Nesta and Mor on a deeper level. This wasn't what I was expecting after the first two books and I don't know if I would enjoy it quite as much on a re-read but, I really liked this one and I think it was a great ending to the trilogy.

I liked Madeline as the main character but oh my god I couldn't stand the self-righteous and rude love interest. Being Scottish is not an excuse for being a dickhead and I don't understand this trope AT ALL.

In a strange turn of events, I actually preferred the first half of this without anyone trying to solve the murder. This felt very Knives Out and honestly, I think that's what saved it for me, otherwise, it would've been one of Agatha Christie's most boring murder mysteries.

As an Insomniac sleep has always alluded and fascinated me so when I heard about this I knew I had to pick it up. I found this so so helpful and incredibly fascinating, I kind of want to re-read it already.

I don't quite know how to explain my feelings on this book. I loved the idea of exploring parallel lives and I loved exploring Nora as a character, but I wonder if I would have loved or appreciated this book as much as I did if it Carey Mulligan hadn't narrated it. I don't know what it is about her voice but she was perfect as Nora, and her performance really made the book for me. All in all, this was a really interesting idea and had some fantastic character development and exploration but it wasn't mindblowing or phenomenal.
