Here’s your new Supernatural Fantasy of the year! The authors world building was unique and fresh, the magic system fun and inviting. We have a toooon of amazing tropes throughout this book that include, found family, forbidden love, forced proximity, and feminine rage!
I was guessing throughout the entire book and was still pleasantly surprised with the results of our murder mystery. This one also has some heavy trauma and it was so emotional at times I swear. I think you’re gonna love this one!

My first book by this author and I was NOT disappointed! This was a twisty thriller ride right down to the end. I felt like everything was a puzzle and wasn’t quite sure who to trust. I loved the opening to professional grifters and the insanity that can ensue! I think the plot was well written AND thought out. And I’ll be back to read more from her!

This is a deeply personal and honest reflection on life and thoughts, a great approach to normalizing therapy. It can also be said it’s basically an extension of Book 1 but touches further on certain aspects. The author shows her VERY raw emotions and takes us places some are afraid to go.
I enjoyed this, at risk of the internal reflection, even down to the end. She’s easy to relate to while certain parts are uncomfortable to relate to and others unrelatable. But that’s the beauty of books like this.
❕Content Warnings: Sensitive subjects, therapy, depression, etc.
Thank you Bloomsbury books!

This was such a freshly done read! I think because there’s very few graphic novels centered, in particular, around girls sports this will be a giant hit! As it should be. I loved getting to know our characters and it was interesting to see the struggles they face.
Whether it’s prejudice or straight up school pressure and stress. It was over before I knew it and I hope to see even more like this! I definitely recommend and I’ll be keeping for when my daughter is older

I was so unsure going in to this! I think the author really took the cake on creating a fresh and unique magic system that I really enjoyed throughout the book. This is also chock full of betrayal and tension that paved the way.
I enjoyed our main characters as well and thought their time together was great. The author really played on the relationship and had us just WAITING for more. You could definitely go into this assuming you’re about to be a part of an intense murder mystery!
Thank you to the nerd fam for my physical copy and BOMM for the tour and ecopy.

Wow!!! Is the first thing I should say. I don’t think I’ve read much like this one and that was so refreshing. This was full of political intrigue that didn’t JUST settle on overextended lore but also extreme betrayal and an enemies to lovers arc that I somehow didn’t expect?!
Princess Ying Yue was a really enjoyable main character and I loved her drive to NOT be married to a cruel cold prince who shows little interest. So much so that she’s willing to do some crazy things. Y’all should most definitely give this one a try, I mean it!

The Seaforth Heiress: Lady of the Last Prophecy
Elizabeth Hutchison Bernard, Elizabeth Hutchison Bernard
This was such a powerful read! Especially considering this is actually based on a real woman who became her clans first female chief in the 19th century. I really enjoyed learning about her in such a unique way. This was a historical drama in my opinion and the pacing was also fast yet gave us the details we needed to relate to the story. Mary Mackenzie was a fantastic main character to read about as well. I definitely recommend this!

Books like this show that middle grade stories can be just as important as any other! I’m a lover of the spooky and horrifying, which I think this book delivered on in an age appropriate way. But it also touched on some important subjects, toxicity in friendship, struggling to find yourself, losing yourself to friends. The twist is perfect for middle grade age and even enjoyable for an older audience. All in all this was well written and easily enjoyed!

The arranged marriage trope has been done and done before. There’s no denying it. BUT, I think this one was so smoothly done it felt original. I loved the characters and the relationship between our two mains. It gave off every vibe I was hoping for and then some. I haven’t really read many books in this particular category so it was nice to venture off and be met with a great book. Now is it predictable? Yes. Do I care? No. I think if you come here looking for a fun time that’s exactly what you’ll find. Plus it has me wanting to read the others in this series to see how well the author truly captures me. But this book is not for the weak, lemme tell you.

I loved this middle grade book! It really shown a light on not only a beautifully written urban fantasy but the life and struggles of growing up in a big city and how that reflects on you as a kid and into adulthood. The lore and magic world building was unique but easy to handle! This was a emotional rollercoaster that you might not want to come back from. A stunning book that kids will love and should read!
