'The Great Gatsby' is a story of love. It is a story of longing and passion. Nick gets wrapped up into a world of lavish parties. He rents a house and one day gets an invitation to his neighbor's party. This is the story of a man who is well known but not known at all. Jay Gatsby is the party host, not many know who he is or what he looks like, but they flock to his house like moths to a light. Nick meets Gatsby and is fascinated by him, and wants to get to know him. Gatsby is a mystery in every sense of the word. No one knows who he is; there are rumors that he is a bootlegger, that he's a big shot. No one in this world knows who he truly is, and Nick tries to figure him out. Gatsby's house is across the water from Daisy's house. He met Daisy when he was a young officer and has been in love with her ever since. He was always throwing these parties to bring her to him. Gatsby has such big dreams, to become a rich man, and an intelligent man, a man in love. Unfortunately, those who dream too big will fall. That is the main lesson that I took away from this reading of The Great Gatsby. When Myrtle, Tom's mistress, dreamed of becoming more than her station she was killed. Gatsby was dreaming of Daisy and being with her after all these years; he too was killed. If you have never read 'The Great Gatsby' it's such a lovely read. I've read this story so many times now, and I still love it. The writing is beautiful and the characters are so real and well developed. There is a reason that this book is so important.

This book was amazing. Jude is far too clever for the fae. She was in control, she had the king and kingdom under her thumb. What is so brilliant about these two books is that it shows characters who will do whatever it takes to get what they want. Jude had control over the King. Jude was ambitious enough to take everything. I love the tension between Cardan and Jude throughout the whole novel and it was awesome to see the table turn at the very end. This is the rare occasion where the protagonist of a YA book is cunning and intelligent. She plays many dangerous games in this book and wins nearly all of them. Until she lost everything in the end. I know this book just came out, but I’m already patiently waiting for the next book. Seriously loved this book, couldn’t put it down.

This book broke my heart, stitched it together and broke it again. I can’t even write a cohesive review, let’s sum it up to say. This book is beautiful, Arden writes so well, it’s beautiful lyrical prose. The book begins with heart break and ends with heartbreak and hope. This has to be one of the best trilogies I have ever read. The characters are well developed and all the saddness and horror makes sense for the plot of these books. Thank you Katherine Arden for this trilogy.

This is one of the best Bosch books. I devoured this novel, it kept me in suspense. Following the doll maker and eventually finding out who it was, was creepy and suspenseful. Great Book.

This was such a cute love story. It has hard of hearing representation (not trying to be offensive <3) with the character of Oliver. I thought the love story between Nate and Oliver was so cute. Oliver and Nate are old childhood friends, when they were kids Nate kissed Oliver before he moved away and they never talked about that. Years later, while in a coffee shop, Nate sees someone who looks like Oliver. Upon being at school one day, he finds out that Oliver has moved back into town. The novel is a fluffy cute love story where we see Oliver and Nate rekindle their friendship again and then fall in love. This novel is an emotional rollercoaster of their relationship, and it kept me wondering what will happen next. I became way to emotionally attached to these characters, but I had to know what happens in the end. Do Oliver and Nate end up together? Will Nate stop self-sabotaging himself? This is a quick read, and it is well written.

This was a great thriller about a man and wife who enjoy murdering people together. I thought it was very well written and it was a fast read. When reading the novel I felt that more could have been expanded upon, the main characters felt a little one-sided and I would have loved to get more into the characters heads. This book is addictive. Each chapter is like eating a piece of candy, once reading one chapter you can’t stop reading this.

The wife kills the women that her husband lures back to her. To get the women, the husband pretends to be a deaf man. By day the wife is a realtor and her husband is a tennis coach. After their itch for killing has begun, they decide to resurrect Owen, who used to be the local killer from years ago, to take the blame of their killings. They research and start to fit the profile of their victims to fit that of Owen. They have two children who begin to believe that while their father was away luring the women that he was cheating on their mom. As the news begins to spread about Owen’s return it shows a family dealing with a child who is so afraid that she brings a knife to school and a son who believes his father is cheating on his mother and blackmails him. The whole thing is very twisted and disturbing but such an addicting read.

As far as a thriller I think this is pretty good. I think it could have been pushed more, all the murders were done off screen and because we never get into the head of Millicent, ‘the wife’ we don’t really know what happens to the victims. She really is the brains behind the entire operation and it would have added to the effect if we could see into her head. I think this author has the potential to be amazing. I think that if she had pushed the plot and characters more I would have given it 5 stars. This is one of those books that while reading you’re hooked but by the end of the year, you won’t remember what it’s even about.
