I honestly didn’t think their wasn’t anything wrong with this book, but I couldn’t finish it. I was having a hard time getting into the book, and at chapter 13 I just stopped.

I have a rule you have to read a hundred pages before DNFING the book, and that’s what I did. I just didn’t find it interesting, and I thought Abby and the other characters were really boring.

Again, nothing wrong with it, I just didn’t find it interesting enough to read.

A NEW FAVORITE! - REVIEW TO COME

The Hating Game is a new favorite.

It was so captivating and fun. I really enjoyed Josh and Lucy's characters, and it was so funny.

I know this review is really short and stuff, but I really don't feel like writing and instead starting The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater.

This book is a heartwarming and fun romance about a girl named Eleanor who is ‘quirky’ (please don’t cringe lol), silly, and not the prettiest soul on the planet. And a boy named Park, a Korean boy who’s kind of a geek, and is very what did I say. . .geeky?

The story starts with one of our main characters Eleanor. She is the new girl, and a little over weight, and again not the prettiest specimen in the world, and has nowhere to sit on the bus.

Park miraculously shares his seat with her, and the two over time bond over mix tapes (is that right? I think it is?…) and comics.

They start a friendship, but it quickly becomes more. Their are many complications in their romance (including Eleanor’s dickhead father) but it was so damn sweet.

At the end, I was crying like the little baby I am. I feel like this is a coming of age story (kinda actually I’m not sure, I’m not very educated lmao), and a very sweet and heartwarming romance and tight nit friendship between two people who have hated each other, and come to love each other.

5/5 stars, totally recommend for the nerdy romance person who loves ‘hate’ (kinda) to love romances, friendship to love romances, friendship books, a person who loves books set in the 80’s or earlier time periods (me), or just your average nerdy romance.

My class read this a few weeks ago, and I still have VERY VERY STRONG feelings about this book, so this review is going to gut this book to the garbage can.

Now here is why I hate this book, and it’s awful!

It was written when offensive terms for disabled people were used. It made me cringe and become angry when we heard the words or phrases ‘handicapped’, or ‘can’t do it because their HANDICAPPED’. It made me mad and I wasn’t a fan.

I also think their was no dialogue that interested me long enough. We get it from Rons prospective, but I wasn’t interested. At all.

The book had a good idea, but the writing is awful. That’s the main part of why I hate this book. No offense to the author, but this book shouldn’t be published. Ron Johnson is just such an awful writer and everything made me cringe and cry in agony in my head.

The representation was fucking awful as well. I have a disabled person in my family and the lack of rep for these characters ASTOUNDED ME.

While yes the book sends a good message, I can’t look past all the problems I listed here.

Ok I’ll shut up now, but I hate this book lmaooo

Wow. Ok.

I loved this book.

It wasn’t anything special, but it was soooo fun and easy to get through. I normally base books like a 50% off of my enjoyment rate and 50% off of issues with the book. But this is 100% enjoyment rate.

It wasn’t anything special. Honestly it was just a fun fantasy. But I just loved it. I really enjoyed reading about pirates because I’ve never ever read about them, and I really liked the characters.

Definitely picking up the sequel soon, and this is a must read.

The Sun is Also a Star was kind of a disappointment in a way.

Their was nothing wrong with this book. I just really didn’t enjoy it. Or enjoy it as much as Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, which I read about 2 months ago (I think)?

I liked the characters, and the whole story line itself.

I’m really not one for instalove, but I think it was done fairly well in this book.

I really didn’t like the backstories that went into this book. Now some of them were cute and interesting to read about, a lot of them went out of context and were unnecessary in my personal opinion.

But, against their wasn’t really anything wrong with this book. It just wasn’t...Great? And it was really basic. I’m definitely going to read more of Nicola Yoon’s work because it’s sweet and easy to get though, but I really just didn’t love this book ):

Another DNF

God. I was really avoiding these types of contemporaries. The cheesy ones, that describe sexual pleasure in an awful way.

Let me be honest with you. I love reading cheesy, shitty, contemporaries. But this was to cheesy, and to shitty.

Bailey is a dumb bitch. Like how could she not tell Porter was fucking Alex. They had so many things in common, and it was just mind blowing how fucking idiotic you can be.

Porter was sweet. But he was really 1 dimensional.

And. UGH! Oh my god. The fact that Bailey couldn’t figure it out was just...I-I have no words.

While this plot was enjoyable, but the way Bennet wrote was incredibly...cringe.

I was cringing during the time she described ‘sexual pleasure’ and Bailey’s fantasy’s about Alex. *shivers*

It was enjoyable, but I don’t know. I was cringing to much. And I’m sorry.
