The Werewolf of Whitechapel was an absolute delight to read! The setting is an alternative victorian murder mystery in which Ms Liz Sharp gets taken on as a lady's maid, must protect her employer from supernatural beings and anarchists, all while trying to solve her best friend's murder. Honestly I was a little skeptical going into this just because it seemed like there was no way an author could pull all of this together. But I'm so glad to say that I had such a fun, rolicking time reading this mystery by Suzannah Rowntree. The pacing is great, the characters are clever, the language is delightfully witty, and the setting kept me guessing and intrigued the whole way through. Definitely check this book out and I honestly cannot wait to read more about Liz's adventures. 4.5 stars!

This was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed all the musings and humor! Murderbot is very robust. I think sci fi novellas are the way for me to get into the genre.
Very well done, I loved the new characters, all the character development, and seeing Murderbot wrestle with what it means to have feelings and be treated not as a bot. Although it does make me glad that we don’t have such smart AI for sure.
Reread #1: I find this one just a bit stronger than the first novella and was here for the whole ride!

Anarchist on the Orient Express picks up where The Werewolf in Whitechapel left off with a new adventure on the Continent following Liz Sharp's, our intrepid detective and lady's maid. While there's plenty of action in Anarchist (bomb threats, train chases, and an action-packed finale that involves dirigibles and danger) this second book is really much more character focused. We learn more about Liz and journey with her as she uncovers the secrets of her past. It feels a bit different (and perhaps a tad slower) than the first book, but is just as worth the journey to get to know our characters better. Miss Sharp's Monsters really is one of the most unique and fun series I have read this year!

I did not find myself particularly interested, even though I initially thought I would be. I think the writing style didn't work for me very well and what I read didn't feel super cohesive. I think there are going to be people who find it very interesting and I think it could be a cool gift for cocktail/alcohol lovers, I just didn't care enough to finish it.
2.5 stars.

I went into this book thinking it would be another cutesy contemporary about books and finding love. But it exceeded my expectations. The characters are really well written with a found family and packed a much bigger punch than expected. Be prepared to cry.

I had s hard time with the wildly fantastic elements of Ring Shout. Good themes but I definitely not my favorite from Clark. The audiobook is really good, but listening might be why I had a hard time keeping track of the story.
I enjoyed Foundation a lot. I wasn’t expecting it to be a series of stories, and the nature of the stories kind of reminded me of discworld at times. I think I like scifi like this and Dune which are scifi mainly in technology and setting but full of scheming, politics, and worldbuilding.
