Princess Arabella has run away on the day of her wedding to someone she hasn’t even met. Determined to live a normal life, Arabella, who prefers to go by Lia, finds a sleepy fishing village to call home. Kaden and Rafe are after Lia - one of them is the prince she was meant to marry and one of them is the assassin sent to kill her but we don’t know who is who. However, things become complicated when Lia is more than either man expects.

This was a pretty good read and a n enjoyable one. It was a bit different to what I expected - whenever i had thought about this book in the past, I always imagined a girl lost in a woods with two guys chasing her - don’t ask me why. Though it’s not too far from the truth.

The world building for me was good, as well as character development and relationships. I liked Lia as a character, she was very much a strong female character who was able to push her boundaries and do what needs doing. She did make some stupid decisions sometimes but I could look past that for the most part.

I wouldn’t really classify this book as a love triangle as for me, it was definitely clear where Lia’s feelings lay - unless things take a turn in the next book, though I find it had to believe after everything that happened and all the things that guy and his band of men are responsible for (I think I would lose a lot of respect for her to be honest).

There was one thin I hated about this book and it was that the moment Rafe and Kaden walked int the door and met Lia for the first time, they both pretty much fell in love which, come on, no AND they both immediately acted like they had some say in how she lived her life just because they had romantic feelings towards her. Again no. It made me feel a bit icky and I just had a bit of a grudge against both guys because of that.

Celestine North lives in a country where any moral or ethical mistakes can ruin your life. A special organisation called The Guild can brand a person in one of five places for different kind of mistakes that can't land a person in actual prison - but means they have limited choices for the rest of their life, are treated like outcasts and have to wear a 'Flawed' F brand on their skin and on their clothes. Celestine believes in the system until one day everything turns upside down and she finds herself being judged Flawed.

I think this was a pretty strong first book in a dystopian series and I enjoyed the writing style as always.Celestine has some great character development throughout the book but I feel like there's still a lot more to come with her and I'm eager to see how she grows in the rest of the series. There was a lot of info dumping at the very start of this book and I felt like some of the information could have been spread out throughout without Celestine telling us everything within the first four pages.

I liked that this was a bit of a dystopian book but apart from the Guild, the world itself was pretty much exactly like ours with school, mobile phones, etc. And because of this, I don't think there was a need for such silly names on some of the characters like Cutter and Alpha. I felt like this was bit too much of a YA dystopian trope that Cecelia played into. I also really couldn't deal with Judge Crevan's name being Bosco and Celestine continuing to call him that for the first part of the book - in Ireland there used to be this red-haired puppet with a squeaky voiced on children's TV called Bosco so that was all I could think of and it was ridiculous. I also really didn't get the whole spiel about how well she knew Bosco and all the talk of seeing him in these moments where he wasn't Judge Crevan and then it turned out Celestine was only dating Art for three months - the way she went on about Crevan and Art I felt like it had been a good nine or ten months, or longer, and to find out it was only three was laughable.

There were times I felt like not that much happened in this book but I also think it was just a really bid build up to the second book. I enjoy the fact that Crevan doesn't have this total control power over everything like say President Snow and things are pretty rocky under his feet and people can play on that. I also like what this whole book and the idea of the Flawed system and the emphasis in being perfect in everything says about our world today.

Flawed is beauty - let's all love our flaws!

I really enjoyed this Discworld novel which is about a boy called Mort who becomes Death's apprentice and things going a little bit cray-cray. I felt like this had more of a story than the other books, though Equal Rites does have a good plot as well, and i just really enjoyed all the crazy characters as usual but in particular Death. I loved how weird and wonderful he was and how undeath like he was I guess - I will never get the picture of Death in a kitchen with an apron and a whole family of cats out of head for..well forever!

I don't know guys, Ransom Riggs just isn't for me I guess. I feel like these books are just very slow with a whole lot of nothing happening most of the time. I'm pretty bored while reading and just waiting for something to happen and I don't feel a connection to any of the characters. I absolutely hate Emma and her relationship with Jacob which I think is a bit gross and wrong considering she was in live with his granddad and seems to be using him as a substitute. The only peculiar I really liked in this book was Bronwyn. I did enjoy the twist(s) at the end and I will finish the trilogy as I've come this far but this trilogy definitely isn't as good as I expected it to be - I actually enjoyed the film a lot more than the books so far.

I really enjoyed this! It was my first experience reading a graphic novel and it's proven to be that I can enjoy them. I loved the story and the images were so beautiful. Considering it didn't take me long to read at all, I do think I'll be getting the novels out from the library instead of buying them, as I'm not sue they're worth the money for such a short time reading - but it was still very good and I'm definitely continuing on.
