I wish I could give this a higher score but it very much feels like an unfinished story with a lot of loose ends that need tying up. Otherwise, I thought this was equal parts cute and action-picked, and the artwork is adorable.

Holy shit! The narration for this legitimately scared me when I was driving! Bravo! Going to have to bump Malerman’s books up on my TBR!  

OMG THIS WAS SO GOOD! The narration for this was impeccable and really makes you feel like you yourself are Amanda being slowly taken over by the demon. Perfect pacing and length to get the full story and understand who these characters are. You're looking at a new fan of Sara Gran!

TBH I didn't really care much for the characters and I kind of wish there was a bit more focus on the cursed gun and its overall history of violence. I thought the time-travel/alternate dimension aspect was a little messy and abrupt at times. I think this is one of those books that I think would benefit from a visual adaptation because there are a bunch of moving parts to the story while also having room for expansion.

This really needed to be a longer story. I've read a few of Hendrix's works already and they've all been great with character building and overall plot. I feel like we don't have enough time with the characters to care and lore of the 'ankle snatcher' was rushed because of how short this was.

The movie version of this is already in my top 100 favorite movies of all time and I’m so happy I’ve finally gotten to read the original story. Definitely more detail heavy than what I was expecting, but nonetheless I enjoyed this just as much as the film.

A bit unrealistic in terms of the romance aspect, but I did really enjoy our main characters having to deal with their own personal traumas as individuals and as a unit. I think this does a really good job at showing that an equal partnership is one where one person shouldn't get absorbed into the other's life because they are a 'we.' 

Great collection of modern romance from many different perspectives.  I'd love for this to be adapted into a miniseries in the future. 

Everything I would want in a 'Beauty & The Beast' retelling, but my God (and this is completely a personal thing) Santa Barbara is nowhere near LAX airport (like, there's a whole other airport halfway in between those locations).

Willy kind of bugged me at certain parts but otherwise I liked seeing the emotional turmoil that a miscarriage can cause a father. I feel like there are a lot of stories from the mother’s experience, and it’s refreshing to see the opposite gender’s perspective.
