While I did not *love* this book, I recognize its importance for trans youth. Lee gives a detailed experience of a trans youth's experience in finding love - real love, not just social media love. I loved the sibling relationship that was an important part of the story. It's so great to see such supportive family members. 

This book took me back to my Gossip Girl- and Pretty Little Liar-loving days. But this book is so much more than high school drama. It's hard to describe without giving it away, but highly recommend this book. It's a YA book, but the writing is really not YA-ish. It's beautifully written. I really fell in love with the 2 main characters, and enjoyed getting to hear both of their perspectives.

The Check, Please! duet is such a gift to the world. The story of Bitty and Jack continues into the second volume, and we get a closer look into their dreams, fears, and relationship. The illustrations are great. The story is great. I love it all so much. Highly recommend for anyone, especially those who have never read graphic novels before but are interested. 

Holly Jackson did it again! I am not a true crime follower, but this series is so good. I liked this second book in the series better than the first. The audiobook of this is fantastic; the cast of narrators does a great job.

In this book, Pip is once again tasked with solving a mystery. Just when the reader thinks they have the ending figured out, a plot twist comes out of nowhere. There were several times I thought I had it solved, but I should have known there would be some twists. 

My only qualm with the book is it's a bit unrealistic - some of the things Pip or her friends think of just seem to be a tad bit out of reach for someone of their age. 

In Julie Guest's book on marketing 101, the reader learns different strategies on marketing and selling their product, whatever that may be. I found this be a good intro into marketing techniques and sales. However, the book also seemed like a sales pitch for Guest to get more people to use her services. Several times she mentioned how she specifically could help you if you obtain her services. I would have found it more helpful if the book itself had more action items, beyond just hiring Julie's company. 

I enjoyed the audiobook for this - it was easy to listed to.

This is a really cute, quick read. This is a story of high school love, where Graham is in love with the girl next door. But when Graham gets his wish and wakes up in an alternate universe, things aren't exactly how he imagined. I enjoyed that this was from a male POV, which was a different perspective. The characters were cute and like-able. I thought the story could have done with the religious aspects at the end. 

There are some inconsistencies in the book - like what happens to his paper delivery job?

When he comes back from the alternate universe, Piper acts like she hasn't met him, but he had asked her to the dance the day before. And he originally wakes up on a Saturday in the alternate universe, but when he goes back - it's a weekday.

These are the kinds of things I can't let go after reading a book! 

This makes for a great YA holiday read.

The world needed this book, written by so many amazing writers. 
This book shows young black love stories, which we need more of. This book has such a diverse group of characters from different walks of life - queer folks, poor, rich. These authors take the different stories and weave them all together beautifully. And it provided for some good laughs! 
I am hoping these authors do something together again.

This is one of the few political memoirs I have read, and I got a lot out of this one. Karine offers such a unique experience as being a gay, black female in politics. I learned so much from this book! And not just about politics. Karine details her path to where she is today and gives so much insight into Washington and also state/local politics. Karine also gives a lot of advice on succeeding in any career. I took away so much from this book. 

I listed on audiobook and highly recommend!

This story has.a lot packed into a YA book. This is such a beautiful story. Cemetery Boys includes themes of not being accepted by family and traditions, trying to fit into those traditions, and being trans in a religious community. This story teaches that old ways of thinking aren't always right. The friendships and loyalty in this also really resonated with me. 

Highly recommend the audiobook!

This is such a cute YA romance! The Australian setting is really cool. I think it's an important story that highlights the struggles of parents divorcing. Though, there were some questions left unanswered at the end.
