This book was so confusing to me. It was hard to follow what was going on.

This was the perfect October, spooky season read without being witchy or scary. I loved the parallel timelines between the two main protagonists. It's such an interesting story. I felt like things were tied up too nicely at the end, though.

As someone who works in the environmental field, this book was right up my alley! I loved this book so much - not only because of the topic around environmental issues, but because the writing was so amazing. The story was so well thought out and truly a beautiful story. This story is told from the viewpoint of triplets, with each chapter rotating through their viewpoints. Each triplet has their own unique voice. 
I think it's amazing Frankel took this story of something that has happened and is happening to communities across the county (and across the world), and turned it into a very readable story. Frankel accurately displayed the stories of so many affected by groundwater contamination. 
This book sucked me in. I became so emotionally invested in the triplets, their families, and their town. Their pain was my pain, and I was getting so frustrated over the lawsuit and all the hurdles. 

I am not big on fantasy and magical realism, so keep that in mind for this review. This book was good, but just was not as amazing as I expected it to be based on everyone raving about it. A lot of the story was confusing to me. Maybe because I listened to it on audio? It was beautifully written, I just didn't follow it all the way. And some of the side characters and family members got confusing. 

This is the book I wish I had had as a young girl. This book is so full of inspirational women - mothers and daughters who show that you don't have to be rich and powerful to be extraordinary. To do extraordinary things. I loved each of these stories - how they outline the stories of intertwined mothers and daughters. Mothers inspiring daughters to be great. The illustrations are so amazing - it just added that much more to these stories. Highly recommend for young girls!

 was not prepared for how AMAZING this book was going to be. Elizabeth Acevedo is a genius, that's a fact.

This book is so beautifully written. The plot flows quickly and immediately sucks you in. The characters are complicated yet lovable. I am still not over how good this story is.

The audiobook is amazing. I definitely want to read the print version soon, as well.

Just. WOW. Gabrielle did not hold back in her second memoir. There is so much raw emotion. Gabrielle shares some of her most intimate stories and life lessons in this memoir. I felt so empowered and inspired after reading this - to be myself, to not hold back, and to be honest. 

Highly recommend this on audiobook! 

This is the book that my teenage self needed. As someone who as always been on the curvier/plus size, I really really related to Charlie. The author does a good job of showing the internal and external struggles someone living in a larger teenage body experiences. And in such a great way. Charlie is perfectly fine with who she is - she is just trying to get the rest of the world (i.e., her mom) on board with it. We get to see Charlie navigate love, friendships, and dealing with the loss of one parent and a hard relationship with the other. 

More stories like this - that encourage teens to be OK living in their bodies just as they are - need to exist. I wish I'd had this book when I was in middle/high school. Plus, we get a cute love story!

Someone told me I'd like the Brown Sisters trilogy more and more as it went along, and they were right. I loved Dani's story even more than Chloe's. 

I love the love story between Dani and Zaf. They are both such complex people with complicated love histories, and I love how Hibbert brings them together. The dialogue in this book is superb - such great banter.
