Quaid and Aslan are back solving another missing persons case as well as navigating the aftermath of the previous case. Aslan is fighting hard to arrive at some semblance of “normal” to get back to work and Quaid is giving him all the strength, support and encouragement that’s required. Quaid is also under pressure as he comes to terms with his new partner at work and his new case. A case that has many unanswerable questions, a number of suspects and twists and turn’s galore.
My heart went out to Aslan as he struggled with his sobriety and his coping mechanisms. Quaid once again shows that behind his hard exterior is a caring and compassionate man who knows what to do to help Aslan slay his latest demon. Throughout all the stress these wonderful men were there for each other both emotionally and physically which only strengthened their love for each other. Quaid also had me giggling when he interacted with Ruiz as that particular friendship solidified further.
This is a very engaging and enjoyable read that gripped me from the very start and kept me turning the pages. I love the story telling ability of this author. Each new instalment in the series is riveting, entertaining and innovative. I eagerly look forward to more in the series.

Lisa Henry has captured the world of F1 racing in all its glory. From strategy meetings to pit lane and the roar of the engines at the start line. She also highlighted the struggles introvert Lennox has to conceal not only from the media but also his teammates. A team which is very much a family affair as it is owned and run by his father and also includes Lennox’s brother as a driver.
Lennox has numerous insecurities when it comes to his place on the team, his sibling and his famous father. An unfortunate koala related incident throws Lennox and Communications Manager Connor together. It’s not long before Connor truly sees who Lennox is and Lennox feels truly seen. The chemistry between them isn’t acted upon immediately but they soon can’t help themselves and things heat up. Their time together is not without some ups and downs which causes some angst before they get a well deserved HEA.
I really enjoyed this engaging read. It gave me some feels as Lennox struggled with his place in the family legacy and all his perceived shortcomings. The F1 racing and romance elements are well balanced whilst nuanced main characters and plenty of side characters keep things interesting.

As I finished the final page of this book, after being hooked from the very beginning, I closed my eyes and tried to put into words how this book made me feel. There was pure happiness for the ending but getting their was difficult and tugged at my emotions, making my heart hurt for Ryan and his struggles but also feeling exasperated at the same time.
Yes, Ryan is fully aware of his life choices and all the bad decisions he continues to make. He’s aware of the detrimental effect the people he has surrounded himself with have on his continued substance and alcohol abuse. He carries with him the pain from a literally unreal childhood that left him ill prepared for when it was all gone and full of anger towards the person he felt made him lose it all.
Circumstances have Ryan making the serious effort to be the man he wants to be and to be with the man he wants to be with. He knows it won’t be easy but is at last willing to make the effort and for that I just wanted to give him a big squishy hug. I loved the journey of Ryan’s story and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Once again Hiro and Maddox find themselves thrown into another investigation involving lots of ghostly mayhem. Although this time there’s another who has the same connection to ghosts that Hiro has. Unfortunately, unlike Hiro, he abuses his abilities to cause pain and suffering to others.
The mysterious game/investigation is intriguing and kept me wanting to find out more. Like previous books in the series it’s well balanced with plenty of hilarity and banter between Hiro, Maddox and their ghostly side kicks. Not to say that it was all sunshine and roses for them as this investigation also had some dangerous moments. One particular event tugged on my emotions but later I was laughing out loud when two new ghosts randomly appeared and interrupted whilst Hiro and Maddox were having a private moment in the bookstore.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read with a great cast of main and secondary characters with an interesting and complex storyline. I just loved it.
