Absolutely hilarious start to a new series.
For the first time ever I counted the number of highlights I made in a book. There are 63. That’s 63 times that this superbly written story made me laugh out loud, giggle and/or snort. Add in an original plot line with suspense, action, drama, steam, lots of witty banter, sarcasm and a mountain of hilarity and it’s one of the best books I’ve read. I couldn’t put it down.
The two MC’s, Finn and Marcus are so much fun and very easy to love. They have so much chemistry between them but, of course, there’s always an obstacle or two to overcome.
Finn is human, short, charming and loved by all. Marcus is a grumpy, short tempered, older vampire who is respected by his peers but maybe not so much liked by them. When they are partnered together in the Vampire Related Crimes Unit it’s definitely not love at first sight.
After some hilarious nicknames, ridiculous flirting attempts, dating demands that include roller skating, dancing that defies description and amongst other things, a spelling bee moment, Finn and Marcus do get their HFN.
This is the first book in the Vampire Related Crime series and I’m really looking forward to what the amazing mind of Alice Winters gives us next.

A sweet slow burn romance.
Another well written instalment of the series with two very likeable main characters. Maverick is just so caring and gentle towards the strong but scared Jonah who is carrying a lot of baggage around with him. All this with his gorgeous baby daughter Grace taking top priority.
The great storyline was all about their romance, which was instant chemistry that developed as a slow burn with a dash of suspense thrown in. It kept me fully engaged and turning the pages. The slow burn romance really helped Maverick and Jonah develop their connection to each other and once ignited, the steam levels rise accordingly.
Jonah’s past comes back to haunt him but he’s not alone this time with all his new chosen family of Hells Ankhor members with him.
I did want to give Maverick and Jonah a slight nudge at times but they finally got their own HEA.

This is a well written age gap romance between the sunshine guy, Kyle and the grumpy older guy, Andy. It’s complicated seeing us Kyle is Andy’s sons best friend and that does lead to some angst later in the story. Adding to their issues is Andy’s bi awakening and how he handles that. So a lot going on that needs to be resolved before they get their HEA.
I really enjoyed the story arc and was fully engaged with the characters. Their chemistry is pretty much instant and when they gave into it the heat and steam levels certainly rose. So with a bit of angst, some feels, a dash of the dramatic and a side character setting the scene for the next book, it made for a very enjoyable read.

Absolutely brilliant. The story of Dallas and Justin continues and real life issues emerge. Financial pressure for Dallas and disconnection from who he is for Justin. Beautifully written and with the two main characters developing more, this story arc just gets better and better Depicting real life struggles that gave me all the feels and left me with a smile on my face. Can’t wait for the final instalment.

Love the writing style of this author and once again we’re gifted with a great read. Ev and Watson are such likeable, wonderful characters although I did just want to grab Ev at times and give him a good hard shake. I couldn’t help but smile when he finally got his act together and gave Watson his heart.

There’s a lot I liked about this book. It’s an easy, enjoyable contemporary read that has a bit of suspense and a bit of comedy. The two main characters, Jericho and Brees are very likeable and have instant chemistry which quickly turns steamy. They are accompanied by some interesting side characters, one of which is a wonderful fluffy papillon with a pretentious show name and a fantastic every day name. The romance and suspense flowed along nicely and the way Jericho was tugging at my heart kept me turning the pages of this very enjoyable book. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an easy enjoyable read to fill in an afternoon.
