Absolutely hilarious start to a new series.

For the first time ever I counted the number of highlights I made in a book. There are 63. That’s 63 times that this superbly written story made me laugh out loud, giggle and/or snort. Add in an original plot line with suspense, action, drama, steam, lots of witty banter, sarcasm and a mountain of hilarity and it’s one of the best books I’ve read. I couldn’t put it down.
The two MC’s, Finn and Marcus are so much fun and very easy to love. They have so much chemistry between them but, of course, there’s always an obstacle or two to overcome.
Finn is human, short, charming and loved by all. Marcus is a grumpy, short tempered, older vampire who is respected by his peers but maybe not so much liked by them. When they are partnered together in the Vampire Related Crimes Unit it’s definitely not love at first sight.
After some hilarious nicknames, ridiculous flirting attempts, dating demands that include roller skating, dancing that defies description and amongst other things, a spelling bee moment, Finn and Marcus do get their HFN.
This is the first book in the Vampire Related Crime series and I’m really looking forward to what the amazing mind of Alice Winters gives us next.
