I really enjoyed this well crafted standalone spinoff from the Chosen One universe by Macy Blake.
The world building and character development were on point with Conrad and Ryder being very likeable. Lots of chemistry between them with sparks flying. Conrad has to shift his world view to accomodate the existence of supernatural beings and he adjusts accordingly, after a moment to process.
There’s a bit of drama along the way but Ryder and Conrad get their HEA with a bit of assistance from some very interesting side characters.
We are left with a sneak peak into the next book and I’m really looking forward to it’s release.

WOW, what an amazing ride!

This story is so well done that it grabbed onto me and wouldn’t let me go.
I was besotted with the delightfully adorable Deacon and swooned over Ozzy when he allowed his romantic side out to play. There’s no gratuitous steamy scenes included but the few scenes that are here are tender, sweet and very hot. That’s chemistry for you but they both have a secret that could turn their relationship to ash and there’s very intense emotions attached to those secrets.
A major reason I enjoyed this so much was the the ongoing theme of family (chosen or not) and how important that is. The McCoy family have this in spades with a boundless amount of love to share. I can’t wait to see how the remaining brothers stories are told.
So when you mix together some action, drama/suspense, romance, having my heart broken and then put back together and to top it all off, a twist in the tale, you a left with one absolutely brilliant read.

3.5 stars. This latest instalment of the Kelly Brothers was an easy light and fluffy read.
I enjoyed it but wasn’t able to connect with the plot as much as I did with previous books. I guess I was expecting a bit more angst/questioning from the two straight former best friends who originally get together for purely physical reasons. And that happens a lot! Brendan and Wade are both really great characters and I adore Baxter, Wade’s 5 year old son. He shines amongst all the Kelly clan side characters, of which Connor is set up for the next book.
There’s no angst, humour which is to be expected with this family, and a sweet romance. A nice book to read but It didn’t truly grab me.

Great start to new series.

This is such a sweet, low angst, medium heat romance between Dill and Griff who are instantly attracted to each other after a hookup but don’t expect to see each other ever again.
Fate intervenes and over the next week they fall in love. Although there’s a couple of hurdles to jump over, especially Griff’s despicable family.
This is a very enjoyable, easy read with wonderful, likeable main characters and some great side characters who set the scene for the next 2 books in the trilogy.
