I was disappointed. This book was decent at first, then I was just bored. It just missed the mark for me. :( 

The audio book was 10/10.  I do think the audio book made this experience better. I think the story was good and the twists, spooky element, family secrets, and mystery were all well done, but I can see how this would have been a little confusing to follow without audio with the different timelines and characters.... The narration was superb. 

This story had me hooked. 

 What a beautiful collection of poems! This was such a heartfelt read and I think can resonate with anyone. It was inspiring and touching and filled my heart. 

I'm extremely surprised how much I ended up liking this book. The romance was sweet. The smut was 🥵. The monster-human world was fascinating. 

My girl violet knew what she wanted and she got it. Live your best life girlie! 💗

 Rosemary needs to learn boundaries. I'm a sucker for sapphic. This was alright. 

 I think this had a missed potential. It needed a little more between the bar girl and the MC. I love a good short book, but this could have spent a little more time with them. Then it would've been a more impactful ending.

I really enjoyed the story, and I think it was written well. I didnt realize this was part of a series, so ill probably be checking out the rest :) 

 My second read by Rivers Solomon, and again I love the uniqueness of the stories they tell! I just wanted to hug Yetu and take away her pain 💔 

This is such a weird little book. The "infected" have some really strange indicators and at first i was like ?? cuz it was almost comical... but the book is well written and the characters were captivating that it only took a minute to get into it.  I stayed up late and didnt put it down. Its a short read but a good read. 

My only complaint.... for as brief as some of the world/history building was, I sorta wish the ending wasnt explained away as much as it was. Either leave some mystery or tell me everything! Still really enjoyed this 4.5/5

happy ending...not that splats can't have happy endings but it just didnt work for me

all the inner monologue annoyed me idk why. Just the MC crying over and over again how he fucked up his life
One chapter (or a few idk) in the middle were super boring and a complete waste of time and pages. Like they could be completely removed and it wouldnt even change the story.


ps. Jess needs to leave Nick's bitch ass. 

 Meh. This was an alright book. The characters bored me a little and I found myself not really caring about them or what happened. Was not super impressed and was a little slow to get through :/
