OMG. I devoured this book. It was soo good, even for as sad and depressing as it was. I don't reread... like ever. But I already want to read it again! <3

Soo good. Better than I was expecting tbh. The Mc had my heart....I have a soft spot for older MCs. I love when an author delivers well developed characters.. On top of that the writing was great, the pacing was perfect. Would def recommend.

This was a weird book. It was decentish enough until the last 1/3 .... the twists and reveals just seemed random and super unnecessary. The characters were super stereotypical and that's cringe.

The only thing I liked was the supernatural element to it. That was an interesting addition I wish that had been incorporated better.

Meh 2/5

4.5 stars... such a good book!  I really wanted to know more about this world and how it worked. It was gross and intriguing at the same time. We got glimpses into this world and while it didnt answer all my questions it still worked for me. It gave me just enough to understand it. I would have liked a different POV bc Marcos clearly had some issues he was working through. This was  a short quick read, I finished in a day -- I just couldnt put it down... The pacing was good, only gripe is it felt little rushed at the end. I would have liked that worked out a little better but still an outstanding book!

I picked this because I thought the cover was cool, and I'm glad I did. I rolled my eyes at the begining because I wasnt expecting a murder/crime story , but it ended up being a unique horror/mystery with some great elements ;)  I've not read anything from this author before and after this book I will probably check out some of Malfi's other work. The pacing is okay, I didnt find myself getting bored but I wasnt really on the edge of my seat waiting to figure out what comes next. I love the supernatural elements, the multiple POVs, and how the story came together at the end.

Short gothic stories. Fairytale retellings. Women authors. All the things I love! This was a great little collection of stories I could just pick up and read a few at a time. Really enjoyed this!
dark fast-paced

Incredible and disturbing. Yet somehow, the author managed to make you feel sympathetic toward Domino </3 Parts of this i was like wtf am i reading? Some scenes were very gross...I don't think Id openly recommend this to anyone. So this is your warning I told u not to. The art is amazingly beautiful even in all its gore. Im obsessed and I can't stop thinking about this!

For an apocalyptic book this one was not what I was expecting, but that wasn't a bad thing. I could feel the panic and dread as the events unfolded esp in the first part of the book. I def would have liked a deeper dive into the hardships the people faced but for a short book I think it was fine. The characters werent super memorable, but i felt like it was more about the community as a whole vs deep diving into specific characters and i actually appreciated that.
