This entire series has been one near perfect historical romance after another and they all led up to this one. OMG.
Free, the titular suffragette, is everything. If you like competent MCs? You will LOVE HER. Edward is the absolute best kind of scoundrel, and we get that Milan Magic TM of the reluctant aristocrat and the man who loves a Difficult Woman TM precisely because she's difficult. If you liked A Rogue of One's Own? You will LOVE THIS.
MAY DISCORD PREVAIL FOREVER!

*there's also a bonus FF secondary romance that was absolutely brilliant

The most Batman-like of the series yet. I loved all of the additional details we got from side characters and the Duke of Wakefield was just as starchy and uptight as I expected. Artemis was a lovely FMC, and I enjoyed how strong willed and defiant she was.

I really hate mistress proposals and this book has that so. Just know that.

Very angsty with a lot of conflict driven by miscommunication. The conflict between Poppy and Asher was very realistic and that’s what made it PAINFUL to read at times. This is a pretty slow burn, emotionally, but the payoff is VERY HOT. I loved how Poppy was fiercely independent and curious. I thought the way the author portrayed the evolution of their sexual relationship from her being a virgin to her being a Domme was really well done and believable (ie, it didn’t happen overnight!!). Excited to read the rest of this series!

Cute little contemporary that delves into grief and loneliness pretty heavily. Loved Logan and Addie and their shenanigans around Scotland, got a little frustrated with Addie’s unwillingness to let Logan in (relatable) and felt like the two of them jumped from office rivals (?) to absolutely smitten in a very short time. Their arguments were very “you never” and “you always” which like how well can you know someone in a month to be saying “you always run away”? Still very solid - I am nit-picking. Would absolutely read more from Kiley!

This incredibly twisty, tense installment picks up right where Blighted Stars left off. I loved the layered plot and the ways Naira and Tarquin continue to grow towards each other. The last half of this book is basically all-consuming and I found it impossible to put down. Can’t wait for book 3!

While I usually enjoy Alexis Hall’s penchant for oddity, this book was a little too loosely connected plot-wise for me. I really enjoyed Peggy, our erstwhile ladygent, trying to figure out who exactly she was, and Orfeo, our nonbinary opera singer, was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed the time they had together, but there were so many competing storylines that the love story between Orfeo and Peggy felt a little lost in the shuffle. I will say there is a wonderful grovel - fully on the knees in the rain from Orfeo!

This book is more of a farcical, fantastical version of a historical English setting, and Hall has talked about the way they use historical romance as fantasy on a few occasions. I think readers who enjoy a lighthearted, zanier take on hissy RoNos could get into this, but if you’re looking for “realistic” historical romance you might be disappointed.

This was good but not great. I LOVED the FMC, Hanna, and the MMC, Griffin, was alright I guess? The interactions felt a little rushed like the couple was “in love” after making out one time. I wanted more detail and tension between them. I did enjoy the cameo with Leelah from Her Night with the Duke and the sneak peek at Brandon from Marquess on the Move. Dr Pratt was truly the worst but again I felt like interactions were rushed between him and Griffin. I will definitely read more Quincy this just wasn’t my fave.

A little less charming than the first installment but so sweet and soothing just the same. A perfect anathema to the stress of life.
