I LOVED this novella! Starchy MMC, chaotic, competent, curious FMC, explosive chemistry (both meanings), and a propulsive plot outside the romance really made this sing for me.

Uhhhhhh pretty much exactly what I expected and WEIRD AF but you know that’s what you get for reading about potato shifters and their wolf mates.

I was so invested in these two characters although I was VERY STRESSED by the third act conflict. Eliza does an incredible job with reflecting Una’s journey as the survivor of SA, and Ewan’s battles with anxiety. The plot is VERY SCOTTISH with clan conflicts. I also really enjoyed the depictions of birth, breastfeeding and early motherhood in this although do mind the CW on this as well as the note bc the depictions of these events are very detailed and realistic.

This was a cute little romp. Not sure about the plot twist at the end but the building of the “antique Swedish bed” had me chuckling fr fr.

This book contains two of my LEAST FAVORITE plot devices: hidden identity that the character doesn’t come clean about with a QUICKNESS and
surprise pregnancy
. I think I have been reading too much Courtney Milan because she handles hidden identity SO WELL for me while most other authors… don’t. The set up for this novel is great. Who doesn’t love a noble trying to pretend to be a servant and failing at it pretty miserably? Who doesn’t love a smart and competent FMC with her own hopes and dreams?? I loved that part. What I didn’t like was that Brandon/Alex waited TOO LONG to tell Rose the truth of his identity, and then the addition of the other plot device just was unnecessary to me in terms of stakes. I think this book would have been AMAZING with about three main plot points instead of the five it had and also it would have given more time for the relationship to breathe. It’s not BAD, it just didn’t work for me. If you don’t mind it when characters lie to each other a little too long and that other trope works for you, I say go for it. I do really enjoy the way Quincy explores identity and heritage and using power in this series.

A spicy delight with an intense age gap. Def aged our heroine up a couple of years for my own peace of mind but otherwise WHEWWWW.

I loved that Harriet was a budding paleontologist and I really enjoyed the arguments Gideon and Harriet had - basically telling each other that they needed to be less stubborn and more open with their plans. Lots of side plots in this including a ring of thieves, jealous “friends” and an evil big bad. Heavy backstory - mind the CW!

Ugh I LOVED this story of Clara, a woman who people view on a very surface level, struggling with the constraints of ladyship, and Raven (Oliver) an extremely “obnoxious” lawyer. They’re just so nerdy for each other. I do love it when an MMC falls for an FMC’s BRAIN. It’s my favorite. There’s also a great side plot involving typhus, and some very excellent caretaking.
