This book was awesome! Tayla was pretty naive throughout most of the book but still a likable character. I LOVED Eidolon and his brothers! How could anybody not?! The whole idea that all demons aren't inherently evil was great. I really look forward to reading more books in this series, like immediately!

I received an ARC of Waiting On My Reason from the author (yay!), but that in no way holds any bearing to the following review.
I loved so much about this book!! Which was not surprising, Devon Ashley has been an author that constantly puts out books that I love. This one in particular was so fantastic to me, mainly for how well she portrayed the role of being a single mother, and the many worries and thoughts that can be worrisome for a person in that position. I spent the first 4 years of my daughter's life being a young single mother. I turned down a number of suitors for the very fears that Mel had in this book.
"You're right. I know you are. It's just hard to let someone in. I mean, this has been my life. My kid. My burden to carry. I don't know how to share that responsibility, even with someone who might be willing to take that on."- Mel from Waiting On My Reason. I spent the first few years in a relationship worrying about that very responsibility weighing too heavily on my significant other.
All around I felt just how relatable so many aspects of this book were. The close friend from childhood that as you grow into adulthood is virtually unrecognizable. I'm not sure if one adult can say they didn't have at least one friend that they can share that sentiment about! And how tragic is that?! It seems like such a cruel thing, but one that so many people share in common. And Shayne being so reluctant to let go of that relationship with Brad, I understood that completely. When you have so many great memories with someone, and they were such an important part of your life, it can be so hard to let that go, even when all the good that remains are just that, memories. I suffer greatly from the same reluctance.
There were so many different stories all rolled up into one awesome book, fading friendships, the unexpected turns in life, a single mother's struggle, the very real effects of prolonged substance abuse, letting the past go and moving forward, and another personal favorite....looking at all the hardships and unexpected struggles and instead of dwelling on the whys of it all, just accepting that life gets terrible and dark sometimes, but that just makes all the good things and bright days shine even brighter.
Basically if you are looking for an interesting story, with a few great twists and turns, along with some very lovely, well written characters coming to terms with life and moving forward, then Waiting On My Reason is a great book for you to pick up!

I don't know why I didn't read this sooner! I really enjoy the Guild Hunter books, it really has yet to disappoint. And of course Archangel's Storm was no exception. I admittedly wasn't that excited to read Jason's story, not that I didn't like him but he was always so reserved and such a loner so I guess I just overlooked him more than anything. Next to Raphael, or Illum, or even Dimitri who all shined so bright, Jason was off in the shadows mostly unnoticed. Now that I've read this intriguing story and have hidden in the shadows with Jason, I am officially a Jason fangirl.
I really liked the alternating POVs, you conatany were able to see how each if them were feeling and what they were each thinking the whole time. And as always I love that favorites from previous books get their brief but interesting moments too. I already love the 7 and as their ladies numbers grow too it's really interesting to see. No matter whose story is in the spotlight, you always know that it's just another piece to the larger puzzle and they all intertwine to put this glorious story together.
Mahiya was a great addition to the ever growing group of misfits. Her great strength was not a physical one, it was her heart, her big, kind, forgiving, loving heart. After all she had endured over the years she could have easily become a jaded, bitter, hateful person, but instead she vowed to never become that and be the opposite, to live a better life a life full of happiness, joy and love. Mahiya really was such a good match for Jason. She had so much love to give and he was truly a deserving recipient. And I lived what he in turn gave back to her. Even though it might but have seemed like much at first, it was clearly what Mahiya needed.
I'm so glad I picked this book up yesterday. It rekindled my love for this series as a whole. I am looking forward to reading more very soon.
Samantha Young what have you done to me?! I was up until 2:30am finishing this book, I couldn't put it down. It started with me telling myself at around 11pm that I'll just finish a chapter or two....by midnight I was ready to admit to myself that there was no possible way I could get any sleep until I reached the end of this book. It demanded my attention, there was no denying it. So here I sit, satisfied but wanting more, happy but oh so very tired, and I wouldn't change any of it. That's my favorite thing about a really good book, you can't get away from it.
Now let me gush about my absolute favorite thing about Into the Deep, Charley of course!!! As much of a heartthrob that Jake Caplin was, Charley Redford was the star of this show. I don't think you could read this book and not fall in love with Charley. I love that she's not your typical New Adult heroine. She's smart, beautiful, funny, brave, kind, and maybe best of all has so much respect for herself and other people. I knew I was going to like her, and this book in when I was about 9% in at a glimpse from the past when Charley and Jake first meet....
"Are you going to make me work for it?"
"If I don't believe I'm worth the effort, why the hell would you"
I love that she wasn't just playing games with Jake, she just had a sense of self worth. I wish this strong female character was present in more of the NA books I read.
This is my second Samantha Young novel, the first was On Dublin Street (another 5 star book) and I can see a common theme here. Man can she write some amazing characters. They are so full of depth and complexity. It's like looking at a beautiful picture of the stars, you think, "Wow this stars are great, so pretty", and then one night the sky is clear and dark and the stars are shining so incredibly bright, you look up and it takes your breath away. And you don't know how you could have fooled yourself into thinking that beautiful picture was even in the same ballpark as the overwhelmingly vast and glorious true night sky. My friends, Samantha Young's characters are my true night sky. Even the ones that aren't at the center of the story shine bright, you can't help but want to know more about all of them.
It also has to be said what a wonderful story was told here as well! I love a good second chance romance. I mean I kind of live in one myself! My guy and I have been together 7 years now, but this is the second time around, the first time was when were teenagers. So you see I can relate to that pull Charley and Jake feel throughout the book. I will admit though that there were times when I wondered if maybe Charley should just start fresh and move on, I lost my trust in Jake right along with her. I really enjoyed the journey between the past and the present as well. With each new piece of the past revealed we got a better understanding of what was going on in the present and why Charley felt the way she did.
I really look forward to seeing what the future holds for the amazing characters in this book. I think it will be quite a journey. Now I must go hunt for more stories from this author, because I'm hooked!
I thought Legend was a pretty fast paced interesting read from the first page right up until the last. I really liked both Day and June, and the alternating POVs helped with really getting a feel for both of them and what exactly was going through each if their minds while all the craziness ensued. I did find it a little odd how mature these 15 year old characters seemed, but at the same time in a world where by the age of 10 your fate is decided for the rest of your life, and all the warring and plague business, it might make you grow up pretty quickly. I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series, I'm really curious to see where things go from here!

I loved this book. I know some of the plot twists are rather predictable, but I just don't care. Not even a little. I'm too busy loving these characters and the amazing mythological masterpiece that Jennifer Estep has created.
Gwen rocked this book.....hard. She was everything I always like about her, kind, brave, honorable, smart, snarky, all intensified times ten. I felt like she was a little more grown up in this book. It said a lot how much she put aside her own struggles with everything happening and the major rift between her and Logan, to take care of what needed to be done. She always puts the people she cares about ahead of herself, and I love that about her.
Oh Logan, I was so happy to see you, but I kind of wanted to punch you in the face and tell you to stop acting like a baby. Don't worry though, the punch would come from a place of love and understanding....understanding that you can take it like a champ and you kinda deserve it. I was expecting to see more of Logan in this book, but I was still really happy with the way everything played out.
This whole bunch seemed even more unified in this book. I really liked that Gwen's big strength comes from all the people she loves.....
"I attacked her with everything I had. All the moves Logan had shown me. All the sneak attacks Oliver and Kenzie had taught. All the positions Ajax had drilled me on in gym class. All the passion and intense ferocity Daphne gave to everything in her life. All the fluid grace of Alexei's movements. All the quiet Carson showed to his friends. All the pain, anger, and frustration Rory and Rachael had felt these last few months. All the love Grandma Frost, Nyx, and Professor Métis had always given me. All the cranky concern Nickamedes and Vic had for me."
I mean come on, how awesome is that?!
We got to see some new faces and places in Midnight Frost, and I loved the new additions! Rory is someone I'd definitely like to see more of. And of course there were more amazing mythological creatures that made for some awesome scenes as well. Seriously Gwen, you are like the mythological animal whisperer, I'm so freaking jelly of you! Add Gryphons to list of things that I desperately want, but will never acquire.....*sad face*.
So all in all Midnight Frost was a great addition to the always fun Mythos Academy series. A must read if you are a Mythos fan and haven't done so yet! I literally can't wait to read Killer Frost, and thankfully I won't have to, get ready ARC because here I come!!!

Wounded surprised me. I wasn't prepared to enjoy this book as much as I did. I really didn't know anything about it other than the fact that Jasinda Wilder had wrote it, which was enough for me. I've read a few of her other books and really enjoyed them, and the library had this in so I figured why not?
I liked a lot about this book, mainly that it was different. I have yet to read a story line like this, and I really enjoyed that. Rania was unique as well, and had quite a story to tell. She lead a painfully sad and lonely life, and I was completely emersed in her story. Hunter was great as well. They were two great individuals that absolutely shined together. They brought out the best in one another, and it really was beautiful. It was quite a feat too, considering the language barrier, with her speaking Arabic and him English, and neither of them knowing how to decipher each others native tongue. I loved that they worked through that together, and it was one of my favorite little details when he would speak Arabic to her as she spoke in English to him. Each trying to do that for each other to bridge that gap together. I think that alone spoke volumes about how much they cared for one another.
It was a quiet kind of love that built and progressed out of pain and loss. And definitely a Romeo and Juliet kind of theme going on here. This was an enjoyable story from start to finish, and the last few pages nearly made my heart burst!
I thought this was a really cute little book. It was super short, but I see there are a few more books in the series. Sometimes I wonder why not just put it all together into one average sized book rather than 4 or 5 little novellas, but it was free on my nook as were a few of the other ones, so who am I to complain.
