I knew it! Good. That would have been disappointing if the last book would have really went the direction it was leading you to believe. Tracie Puckett, that was just mean lol. I can't put my finger on exactly what it is, but damn I really like these little stories. It must be the hot guy in uniform ;)

When I think about this series of short books as a whole, I have come to the conclusion that I really enjoyed them, there was a lot that I really loved about them....but I can't help but feel a little disappointed by the ending.
I guess I feel like Julie did through most of these books....I'm left wanting answers. But maybe that was what the author was going for, as Jules realized I'm this book, to stop trying to search for all the answers and rush to an end and instead simply cherish what you have, and enjoy the now. So I guess I have some conflicting emotions, while I can appreciate that sentiment and think it's kind of cool, I also have all these burning questions that I wish I would have gotten answers to. What happened between Derek and Rebecca? Did she really just leave Zoey with him? What happened at school with Matt? Did Just a Little Soirée ever happen? How did Charlie fair in the end with everything? More than anything though I would have loved to see what everyone's, most especially Luke and Julie's, happy ever after looked like.
This book took place over a year after the previous one, and A LOT had changed in that time. Just a Little Sequel was chalk full of surprises. I was shocked by so many of them, but they definitely made for an interesting story. I loved all the progress made between Julie and Luke. But at the same time there was always one thing that I found a little odd and I thought left their romance to fall short....passion. I found it rather hard to believe that they existed in this place where after being in love for years they never did more than hug and kiss. I guess I thought maybe the author was holding out for awhile because Julie was 17 at the starting of these books and some people are not fond of diving into that controversial underage sex subject. But she hit 18 a few books ago, and Luke was in his mid twenties, and as far as I know neither had any religious beliefs or anything that made them want to wait. And it never really talked about it, except for the bread thought Julie had about Rebecca having an unplanned pregnancy and that being enough to make her want to focus on the emotional part of her and Luke's relationship for well over a year. I guess I just felt like all they've done this entire series was work on that, and I personally would have enjoyed a little more passion, or at the very least for it to be acknowledged that it had to have been something they thought about, and rather often I would think. That end just felt unrealistic and rather immature to me.
All in all though I thought this was a really cute series, I was roped in after the first book! I loved that the first 4 were free through B&N, it was a great idea because after reading those first few free ones I was hooked, and immediately purchased the remaining 5 so I could devour the whole thing! And the books I did purchase were all reasonably priced, I don't think I paid more than $1.99 for any of them.
Well worth every penny a spent, this series was a delight to read from start to finish.

Let me start by saying that I did enjoy Beauty from Love. It started off right where the last book ended, right after Laurelyn and Jack Henry's wedding. One thing this series has never been short of is passion. And folks, you get it in spades here. While I did enjoy all the steamy scenes, I also would have liked to see a little more of a story line as well. At the same time, I did understand that they were newlyweds and sooooo in love, and I did enjoy seeing what their HEA looked like.
I have been completely enamored by Laurelyn and Jack Henry's story since book one. I found them both to be lovable and interesting characters. In this installment in particular I feel like Jack Henry really shined. He was for the most part the ideal husband, caring, thoughtful, loving, sweet and supportive. One of the issues the happy couple dealt with were some of Laurelyn's insecurities/jealousy. I really liked that, I thought it was very real, I couldn't imagine not having those issues come up after the way they got together, and his sorted past.
Ok, even though I really did like seeing the happy couple's happily ever after, I also had some reservations about if this final book really brought anything extra to the series. Part of me thinks that there could have just been an extra chapter or two added to the last book with a flash of the future, and that would have been enough for me. I felt like dealing with more unstable women from his past was kind of been there done that. And it really makes you question how many crazy chicks this guy has been with?! Was that a prerequisite to being a # of Jack Henry's?

I liked a lot about Be With Me, I liked how Teresa was always so confident in her feelings for Jace, she was strong in that sense. There were times when I found her to be nature beyond her years, but others when she seemed a little naive and her true age did show through. She definitely had a huge heart, and really had a way of seeing the best in people, and I thought that was awesome. I really liked Jace, I thought his story was brilliant and totally different from anything I've read in NA so far.
One thing I really missed was the snarky wit that I've grown so accustomed to in JLA books. Not to say that there wasn't any, there was, but Teresa and even Jace both seemed more subdued than most of her other characters.
This book started out a little slow, there wasn't a whole lot going on besides the will they won't they dance. But she definitely made up for that with the last half of the book. There was a lot going on, and a few surprises. I loved the last half of the book!! And I was all kinds of mushy at the ending. I really like all the characters in this series, and I would love to see more of them! Calla was a good new addition to this bunch, and I think she'll have a really interesting story to tell...hopefully!

She is one of the few that I would buy her books without even needing to know anything else about them other than, she wrote it. Seriously, I've never been disappointed by anything I've read of hers, and this book was no exception.
