That end was CRAZY!!! I did not see that coming at all!! Why??!!? That broke my heart a little, and it made me love Everbound even more. I think it can be tricky when dealing with a series, getting each book to bring something new and worth adding, all the while keeping your readers engaged and on their toes so to say. It may even more difficult for a series like this, where the 2nd book had a lot to live up to after such a great 1st book. Well I can say I think Brodi Ashton killed it!! I liked Everneath, but I loved Everbound!
While the love between Nikki and Jack was still front and center, I loved that there was a lot more action in this book. It was really great to see a different side to Cole too, and get to learn a lot more about the Everlivings and the Everneath. I have to say both of those exceeded any expectations I had for them after the 1st book. What a fantastic world! And I really like the play in mythology too.
I know some will be a little disappointed to not see a lot of Jack in Everbound, but I really enjoyed all the growth in some of Nikki's other relationships. And don't worry, you get plenty of cutesy flashbacks about Jack and Nikki's past and how they got together. There were so many developments, I really don't even know which way is up anymore, especially after that ending!!! I was dumbfounded, I mean I had a few theories but I was pretty off, I really got blindsided by that. I just kept reading the last few pages, while chanting "No!No!Why?!No!". So it definitely ended on a pretty huge cliffhanger....but you know it really didn't bother me. I thought it was pretty fitting, and it certainly did it's job, because I will be getting my hands on the third book the minute it's released! If you read Everneath and enjoyed it, do yourself a favor and read this ASAP, because you are missing out!!

In my opinion, this was the best book in the series so far! I look forward to seeing what happens in the fourth book. And I would just like to say that I LOVE Merit. She is possibly one of the best strong female leads I have read about in awhile. She is strong, smart, honorable, funny and she handles herself with such dignity. I like that she rises and comes out the other end with her head held high whenever the shit hits the fan.

I butterflying love this book! This story and these characters have come to be one of my favorites. I fell in love with them all in Slammed, and that love only grew more in Point of Retreat. I only wish I could move into Lake and Will's neighborhood so I could become part of their weird and glorious bunch. Who wants a bunch of normal peeps anyway, I'll take a bunch of weirdos in my pack any day of the week.
It was so great being inside Will's head in this book. We got a closer look at everything running through his mind this time around which was a nice change of pace. There were a few, very welcome new additions in this book as well. Sherry and, I'm sure everyone's favorite, Kiersten. Kel, Caulder and Kiersten may be some of the coolest 11 year olds ever!!! It was really great seeing all the relationships blossom in this book, we got to see the bond between Eddie and Gavin, and also their strengthening friendships with Lake, Will and all the kids.
Not everything was perfect in Lake and Will's world in Point of Retreat, but then again if it were, there really wouldn't have been a story. There were a few times I was a little frustrated with Laken and her inabilty to see what was so plainly there for all to see. Then again, I liked that their true ages were defnitely on display here. They have grownup so much after all that they have been through in life, but they are still just two very young people in the end, reguardless of their situations. So I think it was important to let that shine through a little. The stars left behind for them by Lake's mother was absolutely beautiful. I love the idea of her still there guiding them along even after she is gone. But maybe that's just the orphan in me feeling that so strongly. That's the thing that makes me love this series so much though, it is something I can relate to in so many ways. Maybe more so from the kids point of view more than Lake and Will's, but the journey they are all taking together is definitely a familiar one for me.
As much as I adore this series, I am slightly worried as to what's in store for them all in the last book. It would be so nice to leave everything so neatly wrapped up as it was at the end of this book. But naturally my love for them all will bring me to ride out whatever struggles they encounter in the next installment, and just hope that when the dust settles that things will be even better than I could have imagined. I believe if anyone can make those wishes some true, it will be Colleen Hoover. If you haven't picked up this series yet, you are seriously missing out. Just do yourself a favor and butterflying do it already!!!

Meh. It wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't great either. I have read some amazing hot musician books, the Reckless series by S.C. Stephens, or the Sinners on Tour series by Olivia Cunning, to name a few. And honestly this book pales in comparison. There was nothing new or great that stuck out for me. And the characters were rather bland. Maybe it's partially because there was nothing I like about Lane either. Seriously, she seemed like a flake and was totally self centered. I really don't even know what Noel saw in her. I was really just hoping for a lot more than I got in this book. Maybe if I had started out reading this book before I read so many other ones with similar story lines, but brought so much more to the table, maybe then I would have enjoyed this more. Oh well, I'm sure there are a lot of people that would enjoy this....it just wasn't for me.

Aggghhhhh Karina Halle, what did you do to me??!! That ending??!! That story!!! The characters! EVERYTHING was amazing. I laughed hysterically ( oh god the shoe incident was hilarious) I was shocked by certain parts, I felt every second of the sexual tension oozing off the pages, I rooted for Perry like I never have before, and I literally ran up my stairs to my bedroom at bed time for fear of something lurking behind me!!! Is it just me or has this series just got better and better with each book??
Perry and Dex were brilliant in Lying Season. I love seeing Perry shrug off some of that insecurity. She blew me away in this book, she was glorious. And Dex, oh yeah loving him more and more too. With every book we get a closer look into who he really is and what makes him tick, and I like what I see! Rebecca was also a great addition to the series. I' hope to see more of her in the coming books. And Jen, I'd love to see her get her ass kicked by Perry...hard.
Lying Season had it all folks. It blows my mind how talented this author is, she rivals Stephen King for writing some horrifying scenes. Literal chills at some parts. Seriously, I'm watching Aladdin before bed because I needs comfort!
With each development and answer we finally get, ten more questions pop up. I'm dying to know what happens next, with so, so much. I'm totally invested in this story now. I need to get all my answers dammit! I can't wait to see what the next book has in store, at this rate I have some really high expectations. Just brilliant, stop waiting if you haven't started this series.
I have to say I struggled through the first half of this book. Allyson was really hard for me to really like and connect to throughout most of the book. But the last half was great. I loved watching her grow up little by little. Make decisions for herself, come out of her shell and blossom in so many ways. I liked that version of her so much more. I also loved all the amazing people she encountered once she did start putting herself out there. I liked how much goodness shined through all these chance encounters. I liked all these seemingly small things, that ended up meaning the most. It really was a beautiful story, I would definitely read the sequel and see what else is in store for Willem and Allyson.

I am always leery of reading a book after in have watched the movie adaptation. While I will say that I rarely find the movie to be the better version, in this case I have to admit that I preferred the movie. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this book. It was definitely darker than the movie, which I honestly have mixed feelings about. It reminded me of reading Grimm's fairytales a little. Fairytales for adults. While I do enjoy those, there is something to be said for the lighter versions, and of course the happily ever afters that follow them. After finishing this book, I don't have the warm and fuzzies, instead I'm left feeling a little sad. An all good things come to an end, and time stands still for no one type feeling.
I loved the extra details about the Faerie world we got in in this book, from the talking animals, to the secrets of the trees. That may have been my favorite thing about this book. Mr. Gaiman did a splendid job creating this incredible, strange world, where anything is possible. I only wish that there would have been more character depth to so many of the people Tristan and Yvonne met along the way. So many of them were nothing more than brief introductions and a mention or two thereafter, which for me was disappointing. And I'm honestly not quite sure when Tristan and Yvonne fell in love. It seemingly to me, happened out of nowhere. One minute he was delivering her to his true love, which admittedly he did start to forget about, but then BAM! All of the sudden he is making smoochy face with the star?! I knew it was coming after having seen the movie, but for someone who has not, I would think that the romance between them would catch someone off guard.
All in all I did enjoy this book, and I have heard such wonderful things about the author, so I definitely intend on reading some more of his novels.

Well I'm glad Trey found his happily ever after. This wasn't my favorite book in the series , but it was still a good one. The ending was pretty spectacular, and my favorite part of the book. It seemed like it wrapped everything up with a pretty bow, which was nice. All I can think about now is that I definitely wouldn't mind some Exodus End on tour books ;)

On Demon Wings was still an enjoyable read, and just as chilling as the others in this series. I swear I get the same feeling after each book in this series lately, and it's move forward 5 steps and back ten! You finally get a few much needed answers, but it unearths quite few more questions lol. Can't wait to see what's next for this bunch!
