So I'm left with pretty much the same feeling as I was after finishing The Forest of Hands and Teeth, which is I really only started throughly enjoying this book at the very end. I spent the first 75% of The Dead Tossed Waves only being slightly interested in it. I see a common theme now in this series, things don't really start to pick up pace until the last one hundred pages or so. It's always that last third of the book that has me giving these books even 3 stars. If it weren't for the better endings, I assure you they would only be 2 star books in my opinion.
Gabry was maybe slightly more like able than Mary. I have to say that in both the books I found the love triangles to be pretty annoying. The relationship between Gabry and Elias seemed to come out of nowhere. Gabry was so into Catcher, but then meets Elias and has intsta feelings for him? I didn't get that. Then she spends pretty much the entirety of the book trying to ignore her feelings for Elias, but also constantly wanting him to touch or kiss her. All the while she's still trying to make moves on Catcher. Bad form Gabry, bad form indeed.
I also found it ridiculous that once Gabry finally makes any kind of decision, chaos then tears everything apart. Seriously....everytime? That seems excessive to me. I'm really questioning at this point weather to give the next book a chance or not. I feel like there is potential for book 3 to be better, but I also said the same thing about each Twilight movie I ever watched. And believe me, I was throughly disappointed each time :/ I will probably read it, and I guess I will just try to do so without any prejudice or high expectations.

The Obsidian Blade could be a little confusing at times, but it was a very interesting story. I liked the idea of the diskos and being transported throughout places in the past and future. I wish the book wouldn't have ended when it did, but I look forward to reading book 2 when it's released this spring!
This book was fantastic!! I thouroughly enjoyed AngelFall from start till finish. Penryn was a fantastic heroine. She's everything you want a strong female lead to be, brave, smart, honorable, and strong. And Raffe, he was just as remarkable. I really love a good Angel story, especailly when the Angels are something to be feared. I feel like that's how it should be. My only complaint is that I didn't get enough of this book! I need more!!! I can't wait to see what will happen next!
I think I am addicted to this series. Actually I'm fairly certain I'm strung out on whatever Jennifer Armentrout's brilliant mind creates. This book was incredible! Katy was a little annoying in the beginning with all the indecisiveness but she's still a total smart ass and I still <3 her. I am so glad that I only have to wait a few months to get my next fix!!!
This was a difficult book for me to rate. I really disliked the whole love story. I'm sorry but the first few lines were "the wind whispered her name, Sarah is back". And of course instantly this Damon knew he had to meet this women. Of course I'm sure you can guess from there they fell in love completely and instantly. I swear if i had to hear Damon's inner monologue about how he "couldn't believe the love he felt for Sarah after just a day" one more time, I was about to scream! This was probably one of the worst insta love books I have ever encountered.
Now for the positive, I really did like the sisters. They were the ONLY thing that kept me going through this book. I really liked the whole family dynamic, the whole magical element, and even the quaint little town they lived in. This book reminded me of that show Charmed. I guess I felt the same way about that show too, i liked the idea of it but really wasn't impressed with it overall. Honestly I thought Hannah and Jonas's situation was 10x more interesting than Damon and Sarah's.
I will probably give the second book in the series a try, as I can just get it at the library, so really all I lose out on is time. I just hope the story with the next couple is a little less corny and unbelievable.

I really enjoyed River Marked. I would say that it was a little slow starting (action wise), but there was that whole wedding thing going on. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Adam and Mercy finally tied the knot and all, I just REALLY enjoyed the other things going on in this book.

It took me awhile to get into this book. I know by page 80 I was wondering if I was going to ever start enjoying this book. I'm glad I held on, I'm not certain when it happened but at some point I was completely engulfed in the story. I think I just had a hard time liking Katsa at the beginning. It's just this thing I keep seeing frequently now where there is this super strong female lead but she has to be stripped of ALL femininity to be so strong. Like the fact that Katsa won't marry, have children, wear dresses or even wear long hair. She would still be a strong women if she choose to do any of those things! I just wish it didn't always have to be so radical, women can be strong and still wear a damn dress! I did end up liking her far better by the end of the book though, after she stopped being such an emotionless robot. It was an interesting story and I will probably read the second book.
The Scent of Rain and Lightning was a great book. It was just what I needed, I was feeling a little bored with my typical paranormal books.
Early on in this book I fell completely in love with the Linder family. Nancy Pickard did an amazing job portraying these unforgettable people. Each one of them were beautiful in their own way. Annabelle was probably one of the most decent, strong, kind hearted characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. My heart was breaking for this family while dealing with their tremendous loss. It truly spoke to me what Annabelle did that day in the grocery store with Valentine and Collin. What an amazing person, to be able to show that kindness in the face of everything. I also felt such sadness for poor Valentine and Collin, they had a lot that they lost that tragic day as well. None of which was Billy. Guilty or innocent Billy Crosby was a horrible person who brought nothing but suffering to those around him. I could honestly go on and on about these characters all day, they were to me, my favorite part about this book.
I have to say that I was actually surprised at the end of this book, in a few ways. I had a few different senerioes of what I thought had happened going through my head. Let me just say that none of then were what actually happened! That was fantastic, I do like a good surprise. It's hard to say much without giving certain things away....but while I enjoyed the story of who did kill them that day, I really disliked they way it all came to light. I felt like it was almost as if the author felt like there needed to be resolution (which I also felt that way) but, in my opinion it was just poorly executed. It felt rushed and honestly I have a hard time buying it. Not the who did it part, but the way that person was caught. I really wish I could rant a little about this because it really disappointed me, but it would give away too much so I will refrain. It changed this book from a 5 star book to a 4 star book in my mind. The rest of this story was flawlessly done, and I wish the ending would have followed suit. Even so, this was a great read and I thouroughly enjoyed it.

This was a quick, fun read. Zombies are a guilty pleasure of mine. I absolutely adore the TV show Walking Dead and it's fun to see where it all started!
