Plot: One car. Five people. A whole lot of history.

I enjoyed the dual narrative & the past/present timelines, they pull you in & make it very hard to put down.

People: I loved all five characters they each had such unique personalities - messy, complex & real. Addie & Dylan had my heart, Debs had the funniest one-liners, Marcus absolutely no filter, Rodney a randomer with a darkly funny twist...

Pace: A medium-paced novel. Funny, warm & moving. There is the perfect balance of humour & more serious topics. It is a rom-com with heart you won't want to miss.

Disclaimer: A huge thanks to Quercus Books for sending me this title. All opinions are my own.

Plot: What if all your neighbours' secrets landed in a diary on your doorstep?
What if the woman who gave it to you was murdered by one of the people in the diary?
What if the police asked if you knew anything?
Would you hand over the book of secrets?
Or ... would you try to find out what everyone had done?

⭐ Koomson is an auto-buy/read author for me & once again she proved why with this novel... I absolutely bloomin' loved it!
⭐ It gave me Desperate Housewives vibes but darker & more devious with a twist that had me picking up my jaw from the floor.
⭐ There are a lot of characters inhabiting Acacia Villas but they are all clearly distinctive with their own voices & personalities so it is easy to keep track of them all.
⭐ It is fast-paced, the mounting secrets intension & twists build in intensity making it impossible to put down until you know exactly what is going on. This was a read-in-one-sitting book for me.
⭐ Domestic noir at its very best, if you only pick up one book from this genre this year do make sure it is this one!

Plot: A crime wave sweeps through the city and no one is safe. An arson at the docks. A carjacking gone wrong. A murder in a country park. What connects all these crimes without causes, which leave no clues?

⭐ I love this series! It was marvelous catching up with these well-loved characters (aside from Garanita who I detest ha!).
⭐ The complex crime spree is incredibly intriguing ...just what on earth is going on? How are they all linked?
⭐ The fast-pace, short chapters & increasing tension with the turn of every page keep you hooked.
⭐ As always brilliantly written with an equally clever & very frustrating cliffhanger - I can't wait for the next installment.

☆ I wasn't a huge fan of the vindictiveness between Hudson & Helen. I felt it was a bit draining & detracted from the intricately plotted crime spree.

**full review coming soon**

I'm warning you now will need tissues but there is plenty of smiles & characters that will find a way into your heart to be found along the way.

Plot:
Three impossible crimes.
Two unlikely detectives.
One deadly voyage.

One of my most anticipated reads, I absolutely loved The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle... it didn't reach those heady heights for me but I still enjoyed it... Maybe, it fell short because my expectations were too high?

It is a creative, original story with plenty of twists & turns to keep you engaged until that ending which I really loved.

People: There is a vast array of characters on the ship to keep track of but they were introduced gradually & were all distinct enough from each other I didn't get them muddled up. Some were more likable than others - I particularly enjoyed Sara & Lia characters, as well as the Sherlockian relationship between Pipp's & Arent.

Pace: A medium-paced novel with an atmosphere of danger & fear from the start.

Pick up if you enjoy: S J Parris & Boris Akunin

Plot: TWO MISSING WOMEN. TWO PIECES OF THE SAME PUZZLE. What links these apparently unrelated cases? Who is causing young women to disappear? & when does missing mean murder?

⭐ I was dubious about a Weaver book with no Raker but I didn't need to be, I'm over the moon to report that it is every bit as thrilling, clever & unputdownable as the rest. In fact it is now in my top 2 favourites Weavers.
⭐ Rebekah is a complex, relatable character you can't help rooting for.
⭐ It's fast-paced & the short chapters gave me that addictive 'I'll just read one more' nature that had me racing through the pages.
⭐I stayed up far far too late (stupid o'clock in the morning kind of late) because I simply couldn't put it down until all the pieces had been put back together.
⭐ The plot, the twists & how it all came together blew me away in the best way & left me wondering how on earth Weaver comes up the incredible ideas. No stone is left unturned & it is top firmly in my top 3 best reads of 2021!

PS. There is also a lovely little treat in there for the die-hard Raker fans, which left me with a big smile on my face!
