They made Martin a sexy name and a sexy introverted man! I really enjoyed how the relationship slowly built over the school year for Rose and Martin, loved how mature and low angst the story was. Two middle aged teachers, in the 40+ club, who care intensely about their students and their wellbeing. Martin definitely was the token "man written by a woman" and whatever the manic pixie dream girl version of a feminist and womanist man would be. Martins woke, I was into it. Rose is not a tiny heroine!! Has curves, has style, has snark, drinks as much coffee as I do. Cares about her students, and is a direct no bullshit person. I wish she was my teacher in HS.

Very low angst, a couple nice & steaaaaamy scenes, slow burn, sunshine hero and grumpy heroine. Teachers at high school, academia and some awesomely thought out classroom lesson plans. A very cute and 80s groveling scene, some care taking, great conversation and mature intellect. Cute, sweet, and light contemporary read.

Light & fluffy romance. Teacher & firefighter, second chance romance & neighbors.

F/F romance between a BIPOC police officer & curvy forensic investigator, both meeting for the first time on a murder case.

Had way too many issues with this one overall. Romance was so lacking and the women had 0 compatibility and chemistry besides being workaholic lesbians and working in close proximity. Their dialogue was really lacking, and they said I love you after around 2 weeks. What's a more instant instalove description?

It felt like the skin color of the police officer and the curvy body of the forensic investigator felt like the author checking off the diversity box without giving any more depth to the characters. Could have used a little more character depth for both of the women.

Fuck Sean. Fuck having to listen to his POV in between the 2 main characters. He sucked, which I know was the point but also come on, make a more interesting villain/unreliable narrator.

Around the 50% mark I lost interest and only wanted to finish to find out who the murderer was, which is why this 0 star read got bumped to a 1 star read. I'm glad I didn't figure it out and was surprised.

Don't waste your time on this book or series.

Was not expecting to come out of reading this one and not make fun of it, but here I am.

My first monster romance, hero is a minotaur and heroine is a human. Surprisingly sweet, given the premise that the heroine "milks" minotaurs for work.

Light, funny, a bit "awwww"

Fun and easy 'choose your own adventure' historical romance book! Loved how interactive it was, didn't love my HEA, lol. (Which is my own damn fault...)

3.5 stars. Fun, light, lots of banter. Childhood enemies to fwbs to lovers. The wedding venue job was a fun touch. Good summer/beach read. Gave me Bergman Brother's vibes with a huge family.

3.5 stars.

I'm just heartbroken at the moment. The cliffy hurts. We get the tension, the angst, some redemption, and two very stubborn folks who end up fucking each other over for the rest of their existence instead of being vulnerable and trying to trust one another.

FUUUUUUUUUUUCK i'm pissed with Tory. I'm pissed as hell. How dare she.

Caleb at this point is a joke. Not end game, a mere distraction. A way for Tory to get out the sexual frustration without fucking the dragon (lol).

THE DRAGON SEX, like come on that's hot as hell.

He also watches out for her and wards the shadows away from her when she's sleeping. Like that's some protector caretaking shit. My damn heart hurts.

I'm so frustrated and anxious right now. Long ass book to torment us with.

2.5

I dig the Avatar the Last Airbender elements with the groundbreaker, firebearer, windwalker and waterrunner affinities. This gave me a bit of Study Series by Maria V Snyder and a teeny weenie vanilla ACOTAR vibe. Can't pinpoint why, but it's a cool world. Granted, the "bad boy" fire prince is a softboi, and i'm finding it hard to think of him as anything else.

Book 2 of the quasi Avatar series. Reading my kindle notes, I am enjoying:
1. The found family of kind friends from the Tower the heroine has in her corner.
2. The sexual tension is nice. I need to remind myself this is YA and don't get too expectant for some explicit NSFW scenes though.
3. The bitch slap was awesome.
4. Everyone after the windstorm in line clapping had my heart in a puddle.

Surprisingly enjoying the march into war, setting up camp and training scenes. This girl is taking a BEATING though. How are all YA heroines unbreakable? I trip and sprain an ankle, they can take down a natural disaster... cool.
